Dattatreya YOGA-The translation done by
(Mrs Amita Sharma) as follows:-
I solute to Lord Vishnu who approached like
Narshimha, but in reality he is (चिद आत्मा) knowledge itself is a
pleasure (आनन्दमय) thus he described through
three words i.e. Sat-Chit-Aanand (सत-चित-
आनंद).
The Saint Sanskriti (संस्कृति) having desire for salvation
through yoga come to a forest wandering the whole world to get knowledge about
yoga. This forest was pure and decorated by trees. Which have various fragrant
flowers and sweet fruits, it was also embellished with lacks and fountains
The Saint roaming in this forest saw the great
Saint Muni Dattatreya संत मुनि दत्तात्रैया who was sitting on a raised platform under a
mango tree. He was in posture of Lotus that is called Padmasana (पद्मासन ). His eyes were centered at
his nose point and hands were posted on the middle of thigh with palms upward.
Their Sankriti संस्कृति saluted the honorable great Saint Dattatreya संत दत्तात्रैया, and sat down there in front of him with his
pupils. At the same time the great Saint broke his yogic concentration and
welcoming Sankriti संस्कृति lovingly, who was sitting in front of him, he asked.
“O Sankriti (संस्कृति) tell me, for what purpose have you come here:
After hearing the question from Guru Dattatreya गुरुदत्तात्रैया, Sankriti संस्कृति replied.
“Sir I came here to get knowledge of Yoga योगा from you. O my dear Sankriti संस्कृति, although the yoga योगा is very vast, but I will teach you in detail.
There are many things which make false ideas
that they can provide pleasure appears to a yogin in the very beginning, but
all those must be left aside and Pranayam (प्राणायाम) should be practiced by sitting in Padma- Asana (पद्मासन).
To do practice of Pranayama (प्राणायाम), first of all, yogi should prepare of select a
cloister Matha (मठ), door
of this Matha
मठ should be small and germs
of any kind must not be there. It should be polished by cowdung or lime
carefully, so that it remains free from bugs, mosquitoes and spiders. It should
be swept with broom daily and be performed with incense and incensed with resin (गूगल). There must not be excreta
etc. Which are eighteen in numbers and there should be a door to close it.
His seat should be made of cloth or skin of
dear. He should not sit on others seat. He should also avoid others and not to
be touched by others. In that cloister he should have a wide seat.
Sitting on that place in keeping his body
straight, the wise man should salute his deity whom he likes the most with
folded hands, and perform Kumbhaka pranayama (कुम्भक प्राणायाम) also called Sahita Khumbhaka संहिता कुम्भका and doing twenty times in the morning. The man
who practice this Sahita Kumbhaka संहिता कुम्भका becomes free from all the grahas (ग्रह) or troubles.
Same way this yoga practice should be done
twenty times at mid day and again evening & midnight . Because this Khubhaka Pranayam कुम्भक प्राणायाम is performed daily with breathing out and
breathing in thus it is called Sahita Kumbhaka (संहिता कुम्भका).
If done this
practice four times daily for three months without any laziness, this will
purify all veins.
When the
purification of vein (नादि शुद्धि ) is occurred these signs appear in the body of yogin.
Lightness
and brightness of body appears, appetite increases, and body becomes certainly
lean and thin.
