Positive Expression of Life

Ecstatic love could be beyond the physical, writes Miss. Linda E Savage (A psychologist and sex educator)

Imagine living in a culture where sex was sacred and not a sin and sexuality was seen as a positive expression of the life force. This perspective was the norm in many cultures pre-dating Greek and Roman times and these societies date back 30,000 years. Even as late as 3,500 years ago, these who lived on the island of Crete recognised sexual pleasure as a wonderful way to connect with spirit, renew the abundance of the land, and unite deeply with one another. In this culture, sexuality was understood as a pathway to spiritual ecstasy.

Nothing Lower or Higher

The fact is that sexuality and spirituality were never split until well into the first millennium of the Common Era when denial of the body became the popular theology of the day. It may seem outrageous to view sexuality in such lofty terms. Yet, it no longer makes sense to deny the spiritual dimensions of our sexuality, as if we had ‘lower physical urges and ‘higher’ spiritual functions, disconnected from the body.

Before you read on, let me define what I mean by spiritual sex; it is sexual energy that goes beyond physical sensations of pleasure and genital orgasm. It is not limited to genital stimulation and the release of tension through a quick and simple orgasm. When spiritual sex is consciously practiced, there is a quality of ‘mindfulness’, which is heightened awareness and expanded consciousness. The more cosmic experiences utilising sexual energy create ecstatic states. The essence of spiritual sex is enhanced awareness, extraordinary inspiration, and a sense of merging with the life force.

For simplicity’s sake, I have divided the spiritual sex into two levels, the first is conscious loving which is sexual energy that generates intense, loving feeling for the partner. The result is greater partner connection, reinforcing commitment in a long-term relationship through loving communion, enhancing the bond.

The second level is spiritual union which is the ultimate expression of sexuality. Often one receives inspiration and illumination that can be translated into divine guidance or simply experienced as pure bliss. These transcendental sexual experiences produce a sense of merging with the source of energy and losing physical boundaries during orgasm. It is often described as ‘being in the moment of boundless bliss’.

Many ancient and modern visionary experiences are described as feeling of being ‘bathed in pure light’. It is cosmic orgasm, the direct experience of the self as pure energy, in union with a divine source. This level of spiritual sex may occur without a partner and even without any physical stimulation.

Many of you intuitively know the link between spirituality and sexuality through direct experience. One woman, I’ll call Carrie, related the following;”At the moment of orgasm I knew that I was in a great, golden light and I experienced myself a transparent, luminous energy. I saw seven stars like, golden, swirling points that lined up in my body. I didn’t know about the Chakras at the time but later I discovered that that’s what I saw. My energy centres looked like radiant golden lights in my body.”

What she has visualised was the life force freely flowing through all seven energy centres that were illuminated and energised by her orgasm. Many people who become interested in spiritual sex have had initial spontaneous ecstatic experience such as Carrie’s.

Since sexual energy is the source of our connection to the life force, the benefits to physical, emotional, and mental health are obvious. Developing conscious rituals and techniques allow you to become more open to such transcendent experience. It prepares you to be receptive to the possibility of connecting in higher states of awareness from peak sexual moments.

A Touching Story

Once upon a time, there lived a big mango tree. A little boy loved to come and play around it every day.

He climbed to the tree top, ate the mangoes, took a nap under the shadow… He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.

Time went by… The little boy grew, and he no longer played around the tree.

One day, the boy came back to the tree with a sad look on his face.

“Come and play with me,” the tree asked the boy.

“I am no longer a kid, I don’t play around trees anymore.” The boy replied, “I want toys. I need money to buy them.”

“Sorry, I don’t have money… but you can pick all my mangoes and sell them so you will have money.”

The boy was so excited. He picked all the mangoes on the tree and left happily. The boy didn’t come back. The tree was sad.

One day, the boy grown into a man returned. The tree was so excited.

“Come and play with me,” the tree said.

“I don’t have time to play. I have to work for my family. We need a house for shelter. Can you help me?”

“Sorry, I don’t have a house, but you can chop off my branches to build your house.”

So the man cut all the branches off the tree and left happily. The tree was glad to see him happy but the boy didn’t come back afterward. The tree was again lonely and sad.

One hot summer day, the man returned and the tree was delighted.

“Come and play with me!” The tree said.

“I am sad and getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself. Can you give me a boat?”

“Use my trunk to build your boat. You can sail far away and be happy.”

So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat. He went sailing and didn’t come back for a long time.

Finally, the man returned after he had been gone for so many years.

“Sorry, my boy, but I don’t have anything for you anymore. No more mangoes to give you.” The tree said.

“I don’t have teeth to bite,” the man replied.

“No more trunk for you to climb on.”

“I am too old for that now,” the man said.

“I really can’t give you anything… the only thing left is my dying roots,” the tree said with sadness.

“I don’t need much now, just a place to rest. I am tired after all these years,” the man replied.

“Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest. Come sit down with me and rest.”

The boy sat down and the tree was glad and smiled.

The tree in the story represents our parents. When we are young, we love to play with them. When we grow up, we leave them and only come back when we need help. Parents sacrifice their lives for us.

Shakti Sadhana शक्ति साधना - Amrit Chintan अमृत चिंतन

Whatever exists in this world (animate as well as inanimate) is the manifestation of Shakti शक्ति (Eternal Power). At some places it appears as dormant inactivity while at others it is seen as awakened activity. All the forms of life have originated from it. It is this consciousness that is seen in all the fauna and flora. It is this energy that is responsible for all the action, growth and expansion in this world. The whole cosmos is the play of Shakti शक्ति.

The play of this Shakti शक्ति in human life is deeply mysterious. The awakening and strengthening of the three layers of our body physical, subtle (Austral) and causal; and the five koshas कोष (shells) annamaya, pranmaya, manomaya, vigyanmaya and anandmaya कोष अन्नमय, प्राणमय, मनोमय, विज्ञानमय, और आनंदमय generate different types of currents of Shakti. The awakening of different subtle chakras चक्र muladhar, swadhisthan, manipur, anahat, vishuddhi, ajóa and sahastrar मूलधार, स्वाधिस्तान, मणिपुर, अनहत, विशुद्धि, आजोह, और सहस्त्रा - is done for unraveling the mysterious world of this Mahashakti महाशक्ति. In fact kundalini maha shakti कुण्डलिनी महाशक्ति is the base of human life itself. Mother Goddess Adya Shakti आदी शक्ति Herself energizes the awakened kundalini कुण्डलिनी and enables a sadhak साधक to achieve the highest goal of life.

People, who remain ignorant of this mysterious play of Shakti शक्ति, are akin to a fish that is thirsty in the vast sea. Those, who strive to delve deep in this mystery and undertake appropriate sadhana साधना, achieve the honor of being called the children of Adyashakti आदी शक्ति. They become full of spiritual power. Nothing is impossible for them to achieve and accomplish.

The supreme knowledge of this Shakti sadhana शक्ति साधना, capable of transforming the impossible into the possible, is hidden in the twenty-four letters of Gayatri Mahamantra गायत्रीं महामंत्र. Advanced sadhaks साधक realize this truth. From this point of view, the nine days of Navaratri नवरात्रि are very significant and auspicious for Gayatri sadhana गायत्रीं साधना. Those sadhaks साधक who undertake the sadhana साधना of Gayatri Mahashakti गायत्रीं महाशक्ति, will become dynamos of uplifting spiritual energy which will be a boon for themselves as well as the society. Let all parijans परिजन engage themselves in intensive Gayatri sadhana गायत्रीं साधना during the Navratri Parva नवरात्रि पर्व

See God- Where? How? Why?-(4)

The question of God or no God disappears.

My imagination is that, God is the pre-Big-Bang state of the tangible universe; modern scientists named that pre-Big-Bang state as - 'Singularity'. In Singularity Energies-Matters-Space-Time, four constituent ingredients of the physical universe did not exist; only PURE CONSCIOUSNESS existed. Infinite God or PURE CONSCIOUSNESS created this finite physical universe for some stipulated period of time through a process; and modern scientists love to call that process with a nick name - "Big-Bang".

According to Vedanta, creative desire of PURE CONSCIOUSNESS is the cause of creation of the physical universe; and PURE CONSCIOUSNESS is the only entity available in creating Energies-Matters-space-Time necessary to erect the grand stage, perceived by us as PHYSICAL UNIVERSE. Creator and the created are inseparable. Creative urge of PURE CONSCIOUSNESS is 'MAYA'. Infinite God or PURE CONSCIOUSNESS creates the finite physical universe to realize HIS infinitude. Created Physical Universe is the stage on which KRISHNA or PURE CONSCIOUSNESS dances eternally with all animate and inanimate objects of the tangible universe.

So, Consciousness, which is none other than God, is fully blossomed on every moment of now; and it does not require graded evolution over time. What we human beings require is to try to make our mind evolved enough so that, we get conscious awareness about the fact that - 'We all are parts of profound system, called by us as - God'; and like creator God we also have immense creative power and wisdom to solve serious problems faced by the modern man.

If you wish to see the secret treasure well-protected inside the iron-chest of the king, you have to establish close friendship with the king by hook or by crook; he will then gladly show you what you want to see. Likewise, to get the answers of the perennial questions of human mind - 'Who am I', 'What is the true nature of the physical universe around me', 'What is my relationship with the tangible universe, about which I know through my sense organs', I have to come in contact with the Creator of the universe through my intuitive eyes or divine eyes; and this intuitive eyes open only through extensive spiritual practices under a true Guru.

The concept of 'Monism' of Advaita Vedanta, that teaches us that, the tangible universe is created out of the Creator, as because the Creator and only the Creator has real existence; and created physical universe has no real existence, because created universe with all inanimate and animate objects is mere a dream of the Creator. According to Vedanta Creator and the Created universe comprising Matters-Energies-Space-Time are inseparable - like the spider and its created cobweb. So, you and I are parts of a vast system, known to us as Creator God. So, we should love ourselves, we should love all inanimate and animate objects of the tangible universe, about which we know through our sense organs. In the ocean of ancient Indian spiritual science there is another profound idea - concept of 'Dualism', that teaches us that the Creator of the physical universe with all inanimate and animate objects, and the Creation itself are two completely different entities - like the potter and his created objects. Both these well-known concepts have many followers with unfathomable wisdom. Both these concepts are described lucidly by Sri Krishna in the

God is a concept, an ideal state for our behaviour and action and reactions. Ascribing name and worshiping Him is only to follow the rules set by various societies, for managing normal behaviours. Element of fear in doing wrong to others is just the effect of 'to every action there is equal and opposite reaction', which is strengthened by the concept, that someone superior to all is seeing us. ----

See God- Where? How? Why?-(3)
EXPLORE GOD BUT HOW –

Religious mythology dictates that - God is

1 Omnipresent --- yet He does not show Himself,
2 He is Omniscient -- yet He does not listen to and respond to one's love- devotion - prayer, worship, meditation,
3 Omnipotent - yet He does not control the frequent mishaps and disasters in the world.

It seems we have created our own imaginary God for satisfying our unanswered curiosities. The sight of God, if gets revealed the God of our imagination will be replaced by truths of what, where, when, why, who and how. Our imaginary God will have divine seat in our heart, it seems till the mystery of origin of life in various forms and their regulation is explored.

Today this exploration work may be conducted by modes and mediums of spirituality, super spirituality, Electronic Transmission Technology, Spirituality and Satellite Electronic Transmission Technology, Intuition - Thoughts and Aura - Electronic connectivity and Transmission Technology, Spirituality- Genetic Engineering Electronic Technology etc.

EXPLORE GOD - The inner eye for noting the observations of the above referred experiments is the team of Religionists + Meditationist + Cell Biologist + Medical Doctor + Electronic Biotechnologist + Electronic Genetic Bioengineer + Mobile Phone and TV - Satellite Technologist. The members of this Team have to be at various junctures simultaneously -- input feeding [stimulus invoking] and Response receiving ends. Stimuli --- God love, devotion, admiration, prayer, worship, physical aura of the saint, meditation, emotional feelings discharged from one end will be channelized for invoking effects at multilevel of the interlinked openly built system of atmosphere, cell, body, brain. etc.

The most important and above all question is, who is that enlightened person , who can enable others to see God in His Divine Light , shinning like a million suns, who can bless us with the Divine Eye with the lamp of Divine Knowledge, in this Kaliyuga.

First search him, bring him on the world stage and let him do the needful and all the questions shall be solved and the search for God shall be over which is least in the Kingdom of God and treat it just as an entry in the Kingdom of God, then we shall retain His power and proceed further to know unknown things and to see unseen things.

There are two types of hearts- the Physical and Spiritual hearts. The physical heart is the one that is located under our chest, beats and circulates blood constantly throughout the body. The spiritual heart is positioned at the centre of the forehead, right between the eyebrows. According to authentic scriptures and renowned Masters, God resides in this spiritual heart.

Whosoever has beheld His effulgent face has attained it in the immaculate mirror of this heart alone. However, to accomplish this, another inevitable requisite is- Divine Eye! Only this eye capacitates us to gaze and concentrate on the divine realms of the spiritual heart. The two physical eyes we possess have a range limited only to the material world. To experience and behold the Divine and supra-physical visions within, we certainly need this Divine Eye.

The Divine Eye has been referred to by various synonyms in different holy texts, viz, Shiva's Eye (Shiva netra), Third Eye, Spiritual Door, Single Eye, etc. Although the Divine Eye exists very much with each individual, but it cannot reveal the face of God unless the Perfect Master imparts Divine Knowledge and thereby activates this Eye.

This activation sets in motion the seeker's spiritual journey into the Inner World. All through this, he experiences celestial visions in the form of radiant light or entities and other infinite extra-terrestrial sights within his inner consciousness. The same has been advocated by the Bible (Luke 11; 34) - 'When thine eye is single, thy whole body shall be full of light.' Meaning thereby, when your Single Eye becomes active, Divine Light fills up your inner domains.

Another holy text- Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (page 922) mentions that our bodily eyes are blind in regard to seeing God. God cannot even be glanced at with them. Only when we seek the tutelage of a Perfect Master and when the Divine Eye is activated, we can clearly see His Infinite and indescribable glory- 'Kahe Nanak ih netra andh se, Satguru miliye dib drishti hoye.'

However, some logicians today also reason that the Lord cannot be seen at all. He is not the subject of perception. He can only be felt like air. So, one can merely enjoy His presence. At the most, one can pray and worship to strengthen this consoling and reassuring sensation of Him being around. But, if we contemplate sincerely, we will find that this notion has no valid ground. Only a blind person claims that the sun cannot be seen. For him, its golden rays are nothing but moonshine. He can only feel its warmth. So, he stubbornly sticks to his notion that sun is only to be felt, not seen. However, a person with eyes knows that this assumption is blatantly wrong. It is merely a blasphemy resulting from blindness. Once the blindness is cured, the assumption will itself be proved wrong as the very sun would be seen to shine forth brightly.

Likewise, seers and divine-eyed devotees invoke us to beseech the shelter of a spiritual Master, the God-ordained eye-surgeon, who can bless us with the Divine eye. With this restoration, Divine Light amounting to thousands of suns will irradiate forth, thereby dissolving the disbelief of the spiritually blind.

Another question, often voiced in this regard is- "What is the advantage of seeing God?" The answer is derivative of the aforesaid analogy itself. Remember- a blind person can undoubtedly sustain himself; however, he can never lead a sound life. On a similar note, a spiritually blind man may survive well in the world.

However, being surrounded by the darkness of ignorance, he cannot lead his corporeal life fully, leave aside the spiritual life. He would remain distraught, dependent, stagger, and always sing the tunes of life at a lower note. To amplify these notes and lend the life its due colour and beauty, suspension of the dark period of ignorance is a must. For this to ensue, spiritual knowledge and hence the Divine Eye is more than a must. This Eye sees and foresees discriminately the path of life and the events occurring on it. Contentment, upliftment, and, hence, happiness follow duly. Is it not an advantageous, profitable deal? In fact, it's a priceless one!

The ancient spiritual wisdom in India had identified that there is a consciousness in all human beings that can be realised. Many people like Jesus or Buddha have realized it in them self. When Jesus realized his self, he told “I am the way, the truth and the life.”

It is true of all human beings and anybody can attain it. There is different ways to realize the self. Yoga in India has been developed as a system codex for realizing the human self.

Logically, we could easily understand a spirit in each object in the nature. A tree is not only the leaves and stem. It includes a subjective tree in its seed as well. The seed includes a subjective tree as well. An egg is not only the white and yellow matter. It includes a subjective chick too, with in it. We could identify each object with a subject as spirit inside the object. We could say that god is not objective. God is purely subjective. Then we could identify god also as the spirit in the human person as the being.

As the being, there exists no duality in a human person. The psycho-somatic disintegrates itself. The mind is no more in the person. The centre transcends into the being. The question of God or no God disappears in the being. Such a person has fulfilled the mission of life and joins the superlative, the PARAM or the being. The human becomes pure consciousness in the being. The object transcends into the subject.

See God- Where? How? Why?-(2)

God is indifferent to your like or dislike, love or hate, worship or insult since He is the Creator of the world and since He is merciful on His creatures; He is neither pleased by your acts of devotion nor displeased by your acts of neglect and negation. The god has already gifted life to you; He neither gives you anymore nor takes from you once He has created you. In view of this why to love God? It would be superfluous to pray or worship God as token of your love to Him.

God is omnipresent – present in every iota of the material world and every cell of living beings including the yourself – religious philosophy states. Hence love God. The radiance of omnipresent God inherent in yourself will enlighten you with His Omni science and will empower your mental and physical potentials with His Omni potency. This will facilitate you for living with peace and comfort in synergism with His creations- the God being omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent as per the religious philosophy; all virtues of the God are not for elevation and enchantment of Himself but for his creatures. Thus loving God, by prayer, worship, meditation etc. you love yourself, augment your potentials enhancing the contribution towards peace and comfort of yourself and the society.

So love self, think high, act high, live high letting other to follow you. This will bring peace and comfort to yourself and to the society you live in. This is a mode of living as theist if one does not like to be atheist.

"A spiritually blind person may survive well in the world. However, being surrounded by the darkness of ignorance, he cannot lead his corporeal life fully, leave aside the spiritual life. He would remain distraught, dependent, stagger and always sing the tunes of life at a lower note..."

We have three dimensions to our being-physical, mental and spiritual. We mostly live within the first two dimensions, which mean that we are not living fully to the extent of our potential. This gives us a feeling of certain want or void and no amount of sensuous and worldly pleasures can fill this void. “The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want "-says the Bible.

If god is hidden in everybody what actually is his/her/? Residence? Why he/she/? Has to stay hidden in everybody and not visible? Is our life like joystick games a mission to unearth hidden god? If anyone who has found and seen god hidden within self-share the view with others? Or can they simultaneously see god hidden in everybody else, because if so they must worship every living creature as they can see god in all they must respect and worship every living temples isn't it true. Have you ever any claimant who had seen god doing this to everybody? Giving same respect as Temple or Church or Gurudwara or Mosque to any individual? Think anybody who claims has seen god, are trying to supersize themselves among others.

Have a question…. why is that people who disturb others peace, create chaos, violence, hatred tend to be living more freely but people who tend to be spreading love, peace, and happiness have always one or the other unhappiness in their personal life, family life bothering them, bringing them down. Making them feel love. Why most of our prayers remain unanswered even after putting in everything we could. Why do the rich remain rich? Both in terms of money and happiness and the poor always poor??

We, human beings like to take in negativity of all kinds. Newspapers, news channel sells like hot cakes when CHAOS, VIOLENCE, HATRED, RAPE ETC are publicised. Nobody will watch TV or read newspapers if a reporter writes a good thing done by a human being. So if you look around you, you can see many beautiful things which have gone unnoticed till now. If you get disturbed by reading or listening to such stuffs, why do you read or listen to it?

See God- Where? How? Why?-(1)

Most of us know it too well that abiding peace lies in the lotus feet of the Almighty; even then we are disturbed! Why? Very often, we beseech Him and somewhere deep within we have a constant quest to know Him. But even then we don't find Him and consequently true happiness and peace! Why? Simply because we do not search for God where He actually dwells.

There is nice story narrated, to elucidate the same concept, Saint Rabiya once did a divine sport. She started searching for something outside her cottage. In the meantime, two people walked past her cottage and seeing Rabiya tensed, asked her for the reason. Rabiya promptly answered, 'Oh Sons, my needle is lost. Will you help me in finding that?' Out of respect for her elderly age, these two men also started helping Rabiya in her search. Within no time, dozens of other villagers also gathered to aid her in her mission to search the needle.

However, the desired result was not forthcoming. Efforts proved futile. Finally, an irritated villager inquired from Rabiya- 'Mother, just try to recall the spot your needle exactly fell?' Rabiya answered that the needle fell inside her cottage. The villagers were shocked! As if knocked down with a feather! They revolted and questioned why then she was making them look for the needle outside?

Rabiya innocently reasoned that it was dark inside. To this, the villagers laughed and explained that if it is dark, then why not light up a candle or a lamp? 'But O old Mother! The needle can be found only at that spot where it actually got lost.' Grabbing the right opportunity, Rabiya remarked that this was the fact she wanted everyone to understand regarding God too. She reasoned –

'You all are searching for God outside, in various temples, pilgrimages, or religious sites; whereas He, verily, dwells within the innermost chamber of your being. And, if it is dark there, then enlighten it with the lamp of divine knowledge. But you can find His glorious presence only where it actually is, i.e., in your own Heart or Self.'

However, in this context, theists or believers often reason that God is omnipresent. He does not only reside within but everywhere, in each and every atom of the Universe. Then, why could He be attained only from within? This logic really sounds reasonable.

However, let's try to recognise the other side of this as well through an example. We know that water is everywhere- below the ground where we might be sitting or in the air we are breathing in (in vaporised form). However, when we feel thirsty, can we drink water just by waving our hands in air? No! One can only drink water from its known visible source like the tap, well, river, etc. Likewise, God, undoubtedly, is present everywhere, but His perception and realization becomes a viable proposition only by entering the beatific portal of our inner consciousness, its specific source, and, for sure, by no other outer means.

God is what people, scientists and religions are searching for and never finding.

God or no god is only a human question. Human mind is confused and frightened till it finds an answer to this question. Therefore, the gods, we know are only concepts originated out of human imagination.

But the existence of different gods and the holding religions make the human minds restless and tensed. Religions have brought only wars and never peace. It is impossible to find a world peace till these faiths disappear.

All religions seek peace and freedom. The search goes in vain for ever, till people turns to themselves where the peace and happiness exists. What people search outside them, is embedded in them, but their mental confusion and fear prevents them from realising the peace and happiness.

Any creator should exist naturally above that which is created. If a God created the universe, then who created God?

Religions all over the world are promoting many concepts on god. Science is delivering theories one after the other. The confused human mind goes on with the question for ever.

A truth that could be realized by any human being is the consciousness filled in the being as real and ultimate source.

The human beings are creative in many ways to satisfy their needs and greed’s. Only the human beings have the capacity to know the self and control the rest. The human mind is so imaginative and visionary that it could draft and create anything they need, from their knowledge and imagination.

There was a basic human need to get out of the ever persisting fear in people. They needed a hold to withstand adversities. The history of gods began here. Before scientific thinking took roots on earth, the religious thinking took the control of human minds simply out of fear.

Faith became the best traded drug and religions became multinational, corporations marketing the faith drug.

The truth exists beyond human perception and logic. The whole universe and the life could be a simple expression of the being .The human being is the only entity (which is still known) that has the capacity to experience consciousness to enter the being.

"Everyone is having a treasure of Gold in their heart. Only, that is hidden under a few basket-full of dirt! Remove that, you will find Gold within you."

DON’T LOVE GOD - LOVE YOUR SELF.

Regular practice of silence makes you more aware, alert and alive.

For most of us ‘silence’ means not talking. Just keeping quiet and not communicating with word sounds is interpreted as silence. There are times when people go into silence for an extended period of time as a part of their Meditation (sadhana साधना). This is a recommended practice in almost all religions.

Silence is God, God is silence’. Like the quest for God, the quest for silence is not easy. We should try to understand the true nature of silence and how to practise it for silence is not a function of the body, but of the mind.

Meditation (Sadhana साधना) does not mean that we sit quiet with our eyes closed. It is purification of the mind-body complex. There are several pillars of Meditation (sadhana साधना), of which five are popular with practitioners. The five are silence, stillness, fasting, celibacy and overcoming sleep. All these practices are supportive of each other.

Stop Inner Chatter
What are the aspects of silence and how is silence to be practised? First of all, there is the silencing of the voice or vocal cord that produces speech. This form of silence is called akara mauna अक्र मौन.

The other form, which is far more rigorous, is called kastha mauna काष्ठ मौन or being silent like a piece of wood, where one does not express anything even with the eyes, hand gestures, facial expressions or in writing. In any of these two forms of silence, suspension of vocal communication without quietening the mind does not silence the mind-body complex. The real practice of silence must incorporate systematic methods that gradually reduce the internal dialogue — all that chatter in the mind.

Benefits of Silence

Regular practice of silence helps increase awareness and equanimity which, in turn, deepens spiritual practice. It helps you stay calm and composed even through difficult situations. Compulsive talking and action are reduced. You speak and act from deeper levels of the mind. As you progress, you master your speech by following its three principles: hitam, mitam, priyam हितम मितंम प्रिअम — beneficial, measured and pleasant. You find that your words have a deeper meaning and even when you are silent, people find comfort and joy in your presence.

ON LUST AND ANGER, Sex and Brahmcharya ब्रह्मचार्य -1

In a few words: man is the highest in all creation, and the highest aim that is before us in the human body - as has been given out by all Masters who came in the past - is to know God. To know God, we must know ourselves first. God cannot be known by the outgoing faculties, the intellect or the vital airs. It is the soul alone that can know God. But our soul is under the control of mind, and mind is under the control of the outgoing faculties. Our attention, which is the expression of our soul, is diffused into the world through the outgoing faculties and is so identified with them that we have forgotten ourselves.

It is the soul alone that can know God. Like knows the like. Soul is a conscious entity; God is all consciousness. So the primary thing is that we should know ourselves. Whenever the Masters came, they gave out the same thing: Know thyself.

How can we know ourselves? We can by liberating ourselves from the clutches of mind and the outgoing faculties; or, you might say, by analyzing ourselves from mind and matter; or, still further you might say, by rising above body-consciousness. When you know yourself, you will see that that very God Whom you find within is already there.

The human body is a wonderful house that we live in. We are living in this body, and we are also controlled in it because of some higher Power overhead: otherwise, we could run out of this body. There are so many apertures in this wonderful house we live in, but we are controlled: we cannot go out of it.

Our breathing goes out, but cannot remain outside; some Power is bringing it back into the body. The very Power that controls us in the body controls the entire universe. That is what is called God-Power: it has been given so many different names by various Masters. When God, Wordless or Nameless, came into being, it was called Name, Shabda शब्द, and Word. That God-into-Expression Power is the cause of all creation.

You reside in this human body, and so does He Whom you are after. To find Him is the purpose for which you have joined various schools of thought or religions. He also resides within you: "The Kingdom of God is within you." If you would like to find Him or enter this Kingdom, you will have to enter into the laboratory of your body. You might be seeking outside for years and years; you might be observing so many rites and rituals, performed at the level of the outgoing faculties; and yet, you cannot find a clue to His Kingdom. Guru Nanak गुरु नानक says, "So long as you do not know yourself, you are in a grand delusion."

It is a pity: we are the in dweller of the human body, and that very Power that we have to find is also already there: a fish living in the water inquires where water is. In the scriptures you will find a description of what the Masters found in their lives when they came in contact with the God-Power. Reading the scriptures can flare up an interest in you to know Him and to have those very same experiences that the Masters had. But there the scope of the scriptures ends.

What do the scriptures say? "God is within you; the body is the temple of God." All Masters say that: in their own words, of course. So, if God is within you, you must try to find Him where He is. If you try to find Him in outward things or outward places, you will not find Him. We have regard for all scriptures, for they give beautiful, fine records of the experiences that the Masters had in their lives.

We have respect for all places of holy worship, because they are models of the human body: Hindu temples are dome-shaped, like the head; churches are cross-shaped, or nose-shaped. Within them are the symbols representing God: God is Light and God is Music of the Spheres. So these two symbols are kept in the temples and churches to show that this Light of God is shining within you and this Music of the Spheres, or Voice of God, is reverberating within you: it can be heard. You can have a contact with them when you rise above senses, above body-consciousness. It is a matter of practical self- analysis.

How can you rise above body-consciousness? If you can rise above it by your own efforts, you are welcome to do it. If you cannot, you can seek the help of someone who goes up and has the competency to raise your soul, to liberate your soul, from the clutches of mind and the outgoing faculties, someone who is able to give you an experience of opening the inner eye to see the Light of God and opening the inner ear to hear the Voice of God. Call him by any name you like. He is a man like you in his outward appearance; but inside he is developed in that way. He has analyzed his soul from mind and the outgoing faculties; he rises above body-consciousness daily. This is what is meant when the scriptures say: "Learn to die so that you may begin to live." This is what is meant when Saint Paul said, "I die daily." This is what is meant by, "To be born a new." This is what is meant when it is said: "The Kingdom of God cannot be had by observation; it is within you.

In worldly subjects, we do need the help of someone who is an expert in them. If you need someone to guide you and help you in these subjects that have to do only with the outgoing faculties, why wouldn't you need that help in the subject that starts when you rise above the body and the outgoing faculties? It is a matter of common sense. If you can do it alone, well and good. A blind man needs two eyes to see. So we need someone: "The Son knows the Father and others to whom the Son reveals Him." And that Son ship continues.

This is what is before us, and for that purpose we have joined various schools of thought. You will find that whoever can withdraw from outside is not attached outside. Whoever is attached outside or is given up to outward pleasures and lives a sensuous way of living, such a man is not fit. There are five passions connected with the outgoing faculties, but two of them are the most dangerous: The first is lust. The second is anger.

All are dangerous, but these are the most dangerous. And even between these two, the first is more dangerous. Kabir कबीर says, "I forgive all sins; but not those who are given up to an unchaste life." These are his words.

Naturally the question arises: what can be said about those who are married? All scriptures tell us what marriage means. It means taking a companion in life to be with you in weal or woe on this earthly sojourn; and to help each other to know God, which is the highest aim before us. One duty may be that of begetting children; but it is not one hundred per cent of our duties. About such a marriage,

"Husbands should love their wives." They should have chaste lives. One duty, is begetting children. When you have one or two children, all right; set your example and make their lives sublime.

The first thing needed is a life of continence. The Rishis ऋषी called having a life of continence observing brahmcharya ब्रह्मचार्य. "Brahmcharya ब्रह्मचार्य means control of all the organs of sense. It does not mean mere control of animal passions. If a man controls only one organ and allows all others to have free play, he is bound to find his effort fruitless. To hear suggestive stories with the ears, to see suggestive sights with your eyes, to taste stimulating food with your tongue, to touch exciting things with the hands, and then expect to control the only remaining organ, is just like putting your hand in fire and expecting that it will not burn.

You will find perhaps that the palate is the chief of all. Brahmcharya ब्रह्मचार्य means: the word charya चार्य means "the course of conduct"; and Brahm ब्रह्म means "God." So brahmcharya ब्रह्मचार्य means to have a conduct of life adapted to the search for God. It is, therefore, the control of all the senses; and it will become easy to anyone who controls his passions, his palate. Diet has very much to do with our lives. Whatever sort of food you eat, you get that very same effect. If a dog is kept on mere vegetables, he will be very amiable. If you keep him on meat, he will be howling and growling. Any diet that flares up passions, we have to eliminate.

Diet flares up passions, Maulana Rumi मौलाना रूमी says, "It is not love that arises out of eating bread; but love is of the soul, of charity." Love attached with the physical body is called lust. You will find that animals observe brahmcharya ब्रह्मचार्य more than men. When any animal gets sick, the first thing he does is not eat. There is also a time for their mating; and man has no special time. It is a pitiable state, I would say. That is why we are not born for eating; but eating is made for us, so that this body may be maintained. This body is the golden opportunity that we have: maintain it; keep it as long as you can. It is not for eating; but eating is made for you to maintain it, so that you may know God.

Similarly, all other organs of desire are required to be controlled. All Masters have laid great stress on that very subject. These two things are especially important. What does it all mean? All these five passions practically mean the same thing; they hinge only on desire. To be desire less is to cut off, to exterminate, the very root of other things. Many Masters have come and said this. Lord Buddha said, "Be desire less." The tenth Guru of the Sikhs said, in his own language, "Be desire less." When you have no desire, there is no question of anger. What is anger? When you want to do something or have something and someone appears to be standing in the way - either directly or indirectly - that impediment to the achievement of your desire causes anger.

When there is anger, what happens? You cannot speak slowly. Take the example of a little rivulet or ordinary canal flowing strongly in a narrow channel. When there is no impediment in the way, it flows on smoothly. But if you put a big stone in it, the water retards and strikes against the stone, and two things happen: one, there is froth and foam, from the striking; and the other, there is noise. Similarly, those who become angry cannot speak slowly, and there is foam in their mouths. Then when there is any wish: "Oh, I must have it; there is no reason why I should not have it." He puts in all efforts at having it; he makes parties, and this and that. When he achieves it, he does not want to leave it; he is attached. This is called attachment. And then he enjoys it.

So all five passions hinge on the one thing: desire. Out of these, two are the most important, or the strongest ones controlling us in the body. All Masters have been saying that. They say, "Chastity is life" - here we lack very much - and "Sexuality is death." Those who are not married should observe strict chastity. Those who are married should regulate their lives according to what the scriptures say. And what they say. Almost every scripture says the same thing.

So, "The abandonment of sensual desires draws the soul towards heaven." The more you control this, the nearer you are to God; because on this very power depends the health of mind and body both: your intellect, your brain, your physical body. They say that what you eat forms chyle; from chyle, blood is formed; from blood, fat is formed; from fat comes the bones; from bones, the pith in them; and from the pith, this thing is formed - how valuable a thing it is!

Crossroads of life

All of us go through challenging times in our life – times where we feel burned out and depleted; times we face the grief of unbearable loss through death, divorce, or illness; times we just feel dead ourselves as we move by rote - empty of connection, clarity, direction or self love.

Our times of greatest life challenge and confusion put us smack dab in the middle of a crossroad. And there we stand: looking to the left; looking to the right; looking back from where we have come; and looking ahead at the life stretching out before us if we continue down that same path from which we have just come and that has led to this crossroad.

Crossroads are not an easy place to stand (or to sit …or to lie face down in the dirt, for that matter!). We know we must move in some direction, yet feel utterly confused, fearful, and wrapped in circular mind games as to which is the “right direction” to take!

Making “the right choice” and “taking the right path” becomes a mind-tyrant keeping us stuck in the middle, tormented by our own inner battle of

Head       vs    heart;
Ego         vs    soul;
Freedom vs    responsibility;
Love       vs.    justice;
Right      vs     wrong. …And who the hell knows which is which anyway! – and on and on and on...

A crossroad is a place that demands some direction be taken if you are to continue to thrive. That, or give up and stay stuck right where you are. And even staying stuck where you are is a place of sorts – just a very self-torturing, life-denying place. Staying stuck is not truly sustainable forever, although many of us stay stuck for months and years and even decades – especially around the areas of our deepest wounds, insecurities, self doubts, and fears. Even the longest stuck has a healing breakthrough waiting to be seeing, if only we knew how to find it.

These stuck places that mirror our deepest life wounds, our secret innermost fears, and our greatest personal insecurities, have (within them) a reflection to our self-love, inner healing, and awakened spiritual path!

Believe it or not, these self-doubting and confusing stuck places in our life that we call crossroads are exactly the places that present a doorway to the perceptual breakthrough that is necessary for true healing, self-realization, and spiritual awakening.

It is at the crossroads of life that we are offered life’s greatest gift-the pathway to our soul’s own genius and authentic nature.

World will be of NO MAN.-1

Woman what we shall say about her, beautiful creation of God, life itself is nothing without a woman.

Her life is divided in parts/stages; nothing is complete for her.

Her birth is sign of burden in under developed eastern regions, in Rajasthan people literally kill baby girl.

In her teenage/early youth, she is more often taken as “colorful butterfly”, everyone get attracts towards her colors, wants to hold her as they can, don’t realize, her colors will wipe away with that harsh touch.

If she does not want to involve with someone, youth says “she doesn’t have taste, she is nuts” n if she involves, parents/brother says, “don’t be characterless”, if she leaves her love or forced to leave for better match, “she is bitch”, and if boy leaves her for his career, “it is required to do so”. Once they are settled in their career, then they lookout to new colorful and beautiful butterfly for them, to satisfy their ego, and flaunty show to others “see I own this beautiful lady”.

If she does not want to marry or things don’t work for her, she becomes sign of barrier/hurdle for her own family, and if she marries with wrong person, she has been forced to live miserable life.

Dowry is the price which her family pays to relief from her and other takes as privilege to accept her for life time.

For his hubby, his first priority is his family, and she is asked to leave parents/relatives for one person who takes her wherever he wants, after all he has all rights on her.

She gives birth to new lives, at the cost of her health, her life; and after that; her hubby says, “You have lost your figure!! Workout”, and if she does not want to go for family “she is cruel; she has no heart”.

If she sacrifices her career for better upbringing of kids, kids says “mom u don’t understand me, as u sits at home and world has changed” if she carries her career, kids says “her mom doesn't love them n have no time for them”, and they hate her; in the whole life she becomes cook and house keeper for kids/hubby, she is the one who takes care of them and still they have their own “priories and life" - .

She takes kids as sign of strong bond with hubby, and hubby says “she doesn’t have time for him, nor she is attracted anymore”, let search other “butterfly for leisure”.

If she is non fertile she is called “banjh”, but what if man is “non fertile” do we have any word for him in our “dictionary”, she has been expected to take care of his dignity/respect in social, If she could not deliver “son”, man runs after other woman for his “generation”.

At last some other butterfly “daughter in law”, comes to replace her in her home and she battle for her existence; --- “home” for which she paid price as a wife, daughter in law even as mom for whole life; at the end she realizes this fact; "she has no home", nor as daughter, sister, wife, mom, daughter in law.

The story ends, and no one knows what was going in this soul, which unfortunately does have an “heart”, and man says “it is difficult to understand woman”, how they will, have they “thought of her” or put up “effort and time” to understand her, they have always taken her as “granted” in all relations, as a brother, father, husband, son, now new emerge as “boss” even in her corporate life as well..

She has three births in one life or may be more; one is “biological”, second when she “marries”, third when she passes from “creation process”. It’s time to think- think – If woman is WO!!! MAN – then world will be of NO MAN.

To be Contd....
