Religion

We human beings cling to religion as a sustaining force because as mortals. We have our limitations and imperfections. But at the same time, we crave for fulfillment and adopt different ways, practices and philosophical faiths for attaining it. The name widely given to these efforts, aimed at attaining fulfillment, is religion.

Religion is neither blind faith nor following of ritual. It is an essence of morality and humanity. Therefore, it has to be based on human values and philosophy. The philosophy of karma कर्म the basis of religion is the best to attain fulfillment. Karma कर्म is the best because it is an integral part of our life and we indulge in it without effort. What we actually need to cultivate is the spirit of selfless karma कर्म. The Bhagavad Gita भागवत गीता preaches.

(कर्मान्या: अधिक्राश्य: माँ फिलेशु कादाच्न्य: ) Karmanyev Adhikaraste Ma Phileshu Kadachana (only action is in our hand but never its outcome).

If you do your karma कर्म without bothering about the results, you can be blissfully happy and have that feeling of fulfillment. Whether it is your personal affairs, your professional or your social life, do the needful with full sincerity and commitment without expecting anything in return. When you desire results from your karma and fail to achieve those results, it triggers a chain reaction that culminates in self-destruction.

1. Unfulfilled desires result in frustration-
2. Frustration leads to resentment-
3. Resentment generates hurt-
4. Hurt produces negativity and
5. Negativity in turn gives birth to anger.

Anger is the all-devouring monster, which destroys everything – your goodness, feeling, विवेक (wisdom) and blunts your senses, all at the same time, producing volumes and volumes of stress and strain for you and all around you, posing a danger to your identity.

On the contrary, selfless (कर्म ) karma generates positive counter force to give you that blissful feeling of satisfaction. When our karma or efforts are no expectations attached, then the neglect, the failure and the negative attitude of others do not affect us. We are at peace with ourselves, enjoying the feeling of satisfaction.. And where do you practice कर्म karma?

You have the whole universe, the (विराट स्वरुप ) Viraat Swaroop of God, spread before you as an arena to practices your selfless कर्म Karma. Performing selfless a without expecting Phal (फल ) (result) is the highest worship one can offer to (परमात्मा ) Parmatma and the divine (आत्मा ) Atama,

Every religion, philosophy and system of government has always emphasized the importance of Truth. “Know the truth which makes for a beautiful life! “The most practical and original definition that one has come across is:” Truth is an understanding of the laws of Nature.”

Certain laws govern the world. These are laws of the inner, outer material and spiritual world. All these laws are natural and universal. In contradiction with natural laws, there are laws made by man. These man-made laws keep on changing but natural laws are eternal. All that is created is transitory. A celebrated maxim of jurisprudence runs as follows: “Whatever is made is transient. Such as the pitcher. Whatever is uncreated is eternal, such as the space. Lasting truth is uncreated. “

Looking at the history of the religions the Vedas वेद्द are the oldest heard holy religious scriptures in the world. The Four Vedas वेद्द [Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharvana रिग, यजुर, साम, और अथर ] Upanishads उपनिषद and Bhagavad-Gita भागवत गीता (of Mahabharata महाभारत Epic) of Hindu हिंदू Religion, Buddhism बौद्ध , Christianity and Islam are most important religions of the world। Of the Holy Scriptures Bhagavad-Gita भागवत गीता has the capacity to be considered as the Universal Religious script suitable for all the people in the world because of its universal scope, unity in diversity। The Four Vedas वेद्द called the book of knowledge is a heard revelation of the knowledge of Truth or God। Upanishads उपनिषद are the philosophy of the Vedas वेद्द , Vedanta वेदांता is the concluding part of the acme of human thought and Bhagavad-Gita भागवत गीता or the song of the Lord is the essence of Hinduism हिंदुत्वा which is the easily understandable and follow-able holy script of Hindu हिंदू religion। Likewise, The Bible or the holy book of stories of Christian religion and the Koran कुरान or the holy words of God of Islam peace with God or submission to Allah अल्लाह religion are the life guide books of the respective religions of the world।

Man’s Conduct – Should not be judged solely by external appearance. He may pose as if he is the paragon of virtue, wear religious symbols, and even conduct elaborate rites. But with all these pumps show, he mats still harbor bad thoughts. Unless he is found to be free from impurities and vicious influences which corrupt the mind. He will never remain a hypocrite.

Desire, anger, lust, and other wicked propensities should have no room in the heart. Such a clean man will not seek property or power but will discharge the responsibilities entrusted to him sincerely. The Mahabharata महाभारत presents many characters, representing a cross section of the then society but their behavior was no different then what one witness among many these days. Jealousy, hatred, and quarrel between brothers were to be found.

Likewise some people attempting to forge unity even suffering personal discomfort were also not common. One among the greatest characters was Bhishma भीष्म who did his best to keep the word given to his forebears. At the same time it was baffling that a man of his status upholding the principles of righteousness should have supported wicked man on the plea of repaying the dept of gratitude. The main theme of the epic is that so long as there is divine surveillance there can be no violation of the law of virtue and that vice can never thrive.

In concluding, man pursues the objects of his desire madly until he gets them. Once he is in possession of them instead being sated he becomes a slave to other longings. The Epic reflects how armed with power of chastity even God in human form could be sentenced for a default. The Mahabharata महाभारत through Yudhistira युधिष्टर pinpoints how after a particular stage in life elders, who are running the home, should hand over the reins of management to the youngsters. Yudhistira युधिष्टर entrusted the administration to his grandson and along with the brothers and wife, left the world. God’s law can never be circumvented and evil cannot thrive for all the time, these are the lessons from the Mahabharata महाभारत .

Religion deals with human being and studies all aspects of human life with a view particularly to determining the purpose, aim, and the ultimate goal of life, Observing the factors which help and the factors which hinder the attainment of that goal. Religion is more competent then any other branches of knowledge to show the way to the realizations of the desires which are most basic in man and which seems to be instinct to his true nature firstly, secondly to know, and thirdly to be happy. The existence knowledge and abiding happiness thus constitute the three fold objective which conforms to the essentially fundamental nature of the innermost being or the soul of man and which , therefore , he always seek to attain. Religion imparts knowledge inculcates a high sense of discipline and builds up man’s CONDUCT, CHARACTER, KNOWLEDGE, and DISCIPLINE and none of these can be had merely for the asking.

Righteous Conduct is True Nobility- When all virtues are weighted and tested, good conduct will be found the best. The soul which is lost will never come back to the body, so too righteous conduct. It is an asset that cannot be easily acquired. One should not fear death but should certainly be afraid of disgrace. Good conduct will constitute the seed of blessedness while the bad will yield endless wretchedness. Virtues make man on earth famous, illustrious in grave and immortal in heaven. Four wheel disciplined life will make a man stand any test whatever his status. Greatness goes with a life of good behaviour; disgrace attends those who discard the value of character. Bad conduct will lead a man to the brink of ruin. It is virtue and not birth, which makes us mighty. Even those born in a family that is considered low will become by their spotless character sublimated into those of a superior family. On the other hand those in a higher caste family may degrade into those of an ordinary family when they give up their righteous conduct.

There might too many religions but morality is one, it is religion in practice. No life can grow properly unless it is dedicated and orderly. Like water from high falls is turned into energy when sent through a tunnel. Life also should pass through regress discipline to achieve success. Man’s self control will place him amidst a band of immortals. He should display utter humility. More than this he should guard himself against the use of his words. Blisters caused through fire will one day heal but the scar made by uncharitable remarks through one’s tongue will remain indelible. He who humbles himself shall be exalted. Abhor evil and cling to what is good only scriptural texts plead with mankind. Righteous conduct is true nobility.

(The different points of view or levels of attainment exist not only among the followers of different religion but also among the adherents of one and the same religion.)

Such different stages are inductive only if the different stages on the path to the perfection and do not constitute any ground for animosity among the adherents of the same religion or of different religions.

Every Nation has a distinctive character, which is its life force, its identity; this identity is the magic wand of its life and death. So long as it remains undisturbed, the nation retains its vitality and develops more and more strength. The moment it is lost, the nation is sure to die.

The magic wand of Roman civilization was its Royal power. That is why the down fall of Rome came soon after the decline and fall of the Roman Empire. The History of Rome, Egypt, and Syria is full of stories relating how many human beings were massacred to annex what dimension of the world’s territories. These civilizations became extinct under the weight of iniquities which lust of power and Gold brought in its train. But when we turn to the history of India, we find that her distinctive character is a spiritual force and that her life- work is spiritual in nature.

This work cannot be done with blasts of war trumpets. India’s influence, being in its nature gentle dew, unheard and scarcely marked. India thus, throughout the ages, has played a spiritual and cultural role consecrated to the regeneration of man and to the progress and civilization of the world.

The magic wand of India’s life in religion. Religion, is essence, is the enfoldment of man’s real nature, which is pure consciousness, the universal spirit in man. This universal spirit is the very soul of the human being and, as all life is the evolution have that which is within. The universal spirit necessarily expresses itself through various peoples and ration in different circumstances and with widely different customs and methods of life. The different between man and man, people and people, nation and nation, is not substance but one of expression. The soul of humanity is one underlying all diversities of expression.

This consciousness of the universal spirit in man is fundamental in the very soul of India. She lives to-day because she has never deviated from the bed rock of this consciousness of spiritual Unity. It is for this reason that despite the repeated on slough of foreign enemies, the Indian Nation has not disappeared from the face of the earth like other ancient civilizations. This is the reason that whenever the essence of religion, which is the élan vital of the Indian Nation, was crippled and debased, the rot set in National Life and as result the Nation was ruined. But with the revival of pure and genuine religion, it raised its head again and succeeded in overcoming all obstacles and establishing itself on its own basis. In assessing the History of India, the Ups and Downs in her movement. On the uneven path of her national life, have to be explained in the light of the rise and fall of religion, as cause and effect relation, And not by well known method of cause and effect relation usually employed in the study of political history.

  1. Thanks

    Bhagwat Geeta

New articles are being written every day, and millions of topics are available Worldwide. Still people just love reading them. The thirst for knowledge and wisdom, fiction and fun is insatiable. Once in a while we come across a book like Bhagwat Geeta that transforms us and changes the course of our life.

There are millions of books in the world, but this book of stands out far above any other book in existence. It is unfortunate that very few people are acquainted with this book because it is not a religious scripture. It is a parable, a fiction, but containing oceanic truth.

“It is an extraordinary book in the sense that you can read it and miss it completely, because the meaning of the book is not in the words of the book. The meaning of the book is running side by side in silence between the words, between the lines, in the gaps. If you are in a state of meditative ness if you are not only reading a fiction but you are encountering the whole religious experience of a great human being, absorbing it; not intellectually understanding it. The words are there but they become secondary. Something else becomes primary: the silence that those words create. The words affect your mind, and the music goes directly to your heart.”

Reading a book like the book is an art by itself. And it is a book to be read by the heart, not by the mind. It is a book not to be understood, but experienced. It is something phenomenal. Millions of people have tried to write books so that they can express the inexpressible, but they have utterly failed.

It is my Joy to state that the subject covered in this book of Total knowledge to bring complete enlightenment to everyone, simply because it is the essence of our sacred shshtras, Puranas, Vedas, and epics. The secretes of the nature are unrevealed before our eyes.

  2. And as these secrets of nature are unrevealed before our eyes, we come to understand ourselves more fully and appreciate the benefits of living in harmony with the laws of nature. These are the laws that guide the sun and the stars, and cause the plants to grow and the flowers to bloom. This is the power we see at work within the human mind and the body, the power of the life itself. Such a study not only helps us to closer to the great mind that rules the mighty Universe all around us.

A living being, especially civilized man, has a natural desire to live forever in happiness. This is quite natural because, in his original state, the living being is both eternal and joyful. However, in the present conditioned state of life, he is engaged in a struggle against recurring birth and death. Therefore he has attained neither happiness nor immortality.

The latest desire man has developed is the desire to travel to other planets. This is also quite natural, because he has the constitutional right to go to any part of the material or spiritual skies. Such travel is very tempting and exciting because these skies are full of unlimited globes of varying qualities, and they are occupied by all types of living entities. The desire to travel there can be fulfilled by the process of yoga, which serves as a means by which one can transfer himself to whatever planet he likes--possibly to planets
Where life is not only eternal and blissful, but where there are multiple varieties of enjoyable energies. Anyone who can attain the freedom of the spiritual planets need never return to this miserable land of birth, old age, disease and death.

One can attain this stage of perfection very easily by his individual effort. He can simply follow, in his own home, the prescribed method of bhakti-yoga. This method, under proper guidance, is simple and enjoyable. An attempt is made herein to give information to the people in general, and to philosophers and religionists in particular, as to how one can transfer oneself to other planets by this process of bhakti-yoga --the highest of all yogic processes.

  3. We are lucky to have been born on this sacred land, which once upon a time was the Land of gods. It can and should still regain its glory, if we, the devotees, the worshipers of the Vedic (Indian) Philosophy, sincerely adopt its values and attempt towards spiritual elevation of our conduct and refinement of the ambience around us. Divine beings generate love, peace, beauty, piety, bliss and prosperity wherever they go. We should also adopt and expand such qualities.

Truly we live in a thrilling age. Everyday new discoveries are being made, so that we may live without pain and unnecessary suffering. We are continuously finding new ways of conquering the dread diseases that have so long held the whole human race in bondage.

This we know from the most ancient writing of the past. And still the wonderful search goes on, for there is no quest in which man and woman are as vitally interested as in this search for vibrant, youthful living.

Man is the most superior creation of the cosmic order. Once he knows how he can improve his fortune, he will certainly take measures to improve it. He will become the architect of his destiny and not a tool of the destiny.

Human is better placed than the other species. He is not born just to enjoy pleasures. All sentiment being eaten, drinks, sleep, and possess sexual impulses. The Beast need not labor much to obtain their needs but the civilized man has to toil to get his food and shelter. By mere eating of grass the elephant grows to a huge size. A lion deprived of its meat will not consume grass. But man’s desire can never be satisfied, by enjoying pleasure. He has been gifted with various senses and he should use them properly.

The animals confronted with danger protect themselves in many ways. But man has no poisonous fangs to bite. Their hands and legs are used for constructive purposes. The organs provided for man should be utilized for creative purposes. The organs provided for man should be utilized for creating conditions for better living. No doubt that all the beings in the world have been created by a super power –God.

The millions of creature from amoebas to mighty animals do not acquire knowledge, but the human beings are a special category and they desire to equip themselves with knowledge and regulate their day-to-day activities.
