RELIGION

Religion is, in the true sense, the science of the knowledge on man’s real nature. It is the perception, realization, and manifestation of man’s real nature. Man’s real nature is pure consciousness, pure existence, and pure bliss. It is divinity itself, it is oneness. It is universal. The soul of everything is thus the same universal spirit, self effulgent, a sun covered over with clouds of ignorance.

Religion, as has been said, is the perception, realisation, and manifestation of man’s real nature, which is divinity itself, the universal spirit in man. The universal spirit expresses itself through infinite aspects, infinite forms modes, and media. As one makes of the house appears in various aspects, being father to one, brother to another, and husband to the third, so the one universal spirit is described and called in various ways according to the particular aspect in which it is perceived by a particular individual. It is a chameleon sometimes red, sometimes green, sometimes yellow, sometimes blue, and soon and sometimes it has no color at all.

Religion essentially is thus one in substance, but many in relation, to forms and media of expression. As the one universal spirit and its many aspects is the same reality, perceived by the mind at different circumstances. It is not one particular form mode or medium alone but equally all forms modes and media, which are paths to self realization. These forms are like the different radius of a circle. As many radius so many path. All leads to the centre. The one ultimate reality, the universal spirit in man. And at the centre, where the entire radius meet, all differences ceases, But until the centre is reached, differences there must be, individuals. According to their nature travel along one of these lines, one along one, and another along another, and if all push onwards along their own lines, all will certainly come to the centre. This is the whole of religion.

Religions become many, called by various names. They vary from person to person, group to group, community to community. The only true privilege for any religion is its fundamentals right to complement itself by drawing upon the distinctive contributions of other religions and thus develop, perfect, and fulfill itself.

Consciously or unconsciously every religion moves towards unity. Unity is thus the measure of perfection for all religions. That is the perfect religion which was reached unity in its varied expression, and that therefore is the ideal to follow.

The discoveries of spiritual science make it incumbent on every religion to lead mankind to the place where there is neither, the Veda nor the Bible nor the Koran, yet this has to be done by harmonizing the Veda वेद्द , The Bible, and The Koran. Mankind ought to be taught that religions are but the varied forms of expression of the religion, which is oneness, so that each individual may choose the form that suits him best. It is therefore The religion that provides the basis of true ‘Conversion’ a conversion which indispensable for real progress in well being. So all must be converted to The religion. No one need be converted from one religion to another, but all must be converted from a religion to The religion. This alone will lead mankind to infinite freedom. This alone will lead mankind to that one in who is the Universe. In who is the soul, who is in the soul, who is the soul of the man, knowing him and therefore the universe as our self, alone extinguishes all fear, brings and to misery, and leads to infinite freedom.

Wherever there has been expansion in love or progress in well being, of individuals or numbers, it has been through the perception realization, and the practicalisation of the eternal truth-the oneness of all beings.

Consciousness of spiritual unity removes all sense of distinction between “Secular”. Nor any difference between service of man and worship of God. Life itself religion.

God with man as the cell of the monk or the door of the temple Art. Science, and religion are but three different ways of expressing a single truth.

Religion is only a means to an end, it is like a fence for growing tree and once the latter become huge with its roots firm and branches well spread, the former has no use. The goal of a person should be to totally avoid re-births. Towards this several methods have been prescribed. But what God expects of any one who desires to realise Him, is submission of every act of him. God wants man to serve humanity for which he has to cultivate certain outstanding traits. He would see God in every creation and treat it or him with kindness. He should avoid being rude to others or hurt insults or injure other’s sentiments.

God does not expect everyone to conduct worship with pomp, God will be pleased with the offer of a petal (like Tulsi तुलसी ) or a fruit, and if nothing, a little amount of water poured at his feet to register dedication. All these acts purity the devotee’s mind.

He is concerned only with their intensity of divine love and nothing else. Saints have gone to the extent of describing the attitude of a sincere devotee as the state in which the very mention of God’s name or God’s compassionate acts should cause tears to well up in his eyes.

God had referred to the need for a person to be soft spoken gentle and endearing to everyone, his purity and conduct should compel others who are associated with Him, to emulate Him. He should be like river Ganga गंगा which remains unaffected even when polluted waters mingle with it.

Another quality to be acquired is desirelessness. He should never be reduced to a situation forcing him to seek the help of the others. At the same time he should not say “No” to any one who approached him for assistance at any time. Chaitanya चैतन्या and Ramakrishna रामकृष्णा revealed such a detached and divine attitude. The later refused to lure by lust in the wake of even the worst kind of temptation and he also treated a piece of gold and a post shred with equal contempt.

Realisation is religion, not more assent, or dissent knowledge has to be gained and fully assimilated so that it is reflected in one’s life and actions. Religion is not more knowledge and learning. It is love, truth, virtual and wisdom all combined religion is there only to serve and guide man. It is indeed, the very aim and purpose of religion to unravel all mystery and to uproot ignorance.

Religion is this primarily concerned with the type of training and education. This introduces man to the facts and the basic problem of life and equips him for the struggle of life with a view to ensuring his physical, mental moral and spiritual well being and thereby facilitating attainment of the goal of life.

Hindu dharma हिंदू धर्मं is not a mere ritual, but a philosophy of life. The correct description of Hindu हिंदू is Sanatan Dharma सनातन धर्म . While Sanatan सनातन has an English equivalent, which means eternal, translating as religion. Confusion prevails when is equated with religion. Hindu हिंदू believes in pluralism, which means there are multiple paths to experience the divine, and one chooses the path that one thinks is valid for oneself. This is the hallmark of its tolerance. Its ethos is expressed in the verse: ekam sat, viprah bahudha vahanti एकं सत् विप्रः बहुधा वहन्ति (there is an eternal truth but there are many ways to achieve it).

The pluralistic philosophy of Hindu हिंदू has enabled it to absorb and nurture diverse systems of beliefs. Many have evolved to address a particular situation that developed. In other cases, one or more individual put forward a set of propositions, which is supposed to elevate the person to a higher spiritual plane. All these philosophies worked within the milieu of the cultural Hindu dharma हिंदू धर्म and never tried to denigrate the people and their philosophy. Hindu dharma हिंदू धर्म is a dynamic philosophy, ever reforming and ever progressing. It has attracted the intellectuals from all over the world in all times. Hindu हिंदू a encourages people to think for themselves, and so has developed a scientific temperament.

a’ Hinduism हिंदुत्वा will spread not so much through the gurus गुरु and swamis स्वामी , who attract certain number of people looking for a new commitment and a quasi-monastic lifestyle, but it will spread mainly through the work of intellectuals and writers, who have found certain Hindu हिंदू ideas convincing and who identify them with their personal beliefs.”

It is not the intention that every thing in Hindu dharma हिंदू धर्म is perfect, and that there no bad practices. Hindu हिंदू history has streams of examples of people who have done human service to reduce the evils that have crept in all ages. Yet, many evils do remain. But these have nothing to do with the philosophy of Hindu हिंदू a. Other reasons have contributed to it.

The fact that it is the oldest surviving civilization must wake up the detractors to its essential greatness, attested by many modern thinkers. Hindu philosophy has always been accommodative. This attitude is born out of the Hindu हिंदू tolerance and a freedom to think for oneself. Gandhji said: “I believe in the Vedas वेद्द , the Upanishads उपनिषद
, the puranas and all that goes in the name of Hindu हिंदू sculptures. For me all these scriptures are divine, the spirit of these scriptures is purity, truth, innocence, chastity, simplicity, forgiveness, forgiveness and godliness.”

We human beings cling to religion as a sustaining force because as mortals. We have our limitations and imperfections. But at the same time, we crave for fulfillment and adopt different ways, practices and philosophical faiths for attaining it. The name widely given to these efforts, aimed at attaining fulfillment, is religion.

Religion is neither blind faith nor following of ritual. It is an essence of morality and humanity. Therefore, it has to be based on human values and philosophy. The philosophy of karma करमा as the basis of religion is the best to attain fulfillment. Karma करमा is the best because it is an integral part of our life and we indulge in it without effort. What we actually need to cultivate is the spirit of selfless. The Bhagavad Gita भागवत गीता preaches.

Karmanyev Adhikaraste Ma Phileshu Kadachana (only action is in our hand but never its outcome).

If you do your karma कर्म without bothering about the results, you can be blissfully happy and have that feeling of fulfillment. it is your personal affairs, your professional or your social life, do the needful with full sincerity and commitment without expecting anything in return. When you desire results from your and fail to achieve those results, it triggers a chain reaction that culminates in self-destruction.

1. Unfulfilled desires result in frustration-
2. Frustration leads to resentment-
3. Resentment generates hurt-
4. Hurt produces negativity and
5. Negativity in turn gives birth to anger.

Anger is the all-devouring monster, which destroys everything – your goodness, feeling, (wisdom) and blunts your senses, all at the same time, producing volumes and volumes of stress and strain for you and all around you, posing a danger to your identity.

On the contrary, selfless karma generates positive counter force to give you that blissful feeling of satisfaction. When our karma कर्म or efforts are no expectations attached, then the neglect, the failure and the negative attitude of others do not affect us. We are at peace with ourselves, enjoying the feeling of satisfaction.. And where do you prictise karama कर्म?

You have the whole universe, the Viraat Swaroop विराट स्वरुप of God; spread before you as an arena to practices your selfless Karma कर्म. Performing selfless a without expecting Phal फल (result) is the highest worship one can offer to Parmatma परमात्मा and the divine Atama आत्मा ,

Every Religion, philosophy and system of government has always emphasized the importance of Truth. “Know the truth which makes for a beautiful life! “The most practical and original definition that one has come across is:” Truth is an understanding of the laws of Nature.”

Religion is this primarily concerned with the type of training and education. Which introduces man to the facts and the basic problem of life and equips him for the struggle of life with a view to ensuring his physical, mental moral and spiritual well being and thereby facilitating attainment of the goal of life.

That is why we must recognise and respect all religion and all men as we find them striving for perfection in their own way so long as they do not interfere with on another.

Are the Gods of Hinduism really married?

It is true that God is often depicted with a spouse in our traditional stories. However, on a deeper philosophical level, the Supreme Being and the Gods are neither male nor female and are therefore not married.

Through history Hindus have depicted God as Ardhanarishvara, which literally means “half-female Lord”—Siva शिवा as male on the right and female on the left. This vision of the Divine as our Mother-Father God supersedes the popular, mythological notion of marriage of a God and Goddess, declaring that God and His energy are one.
