Extra sensory perception :- (Indrayative Anubhav) इन्द्रयातिव अनुभव Is there a sixth sense? Many people believe that humans and animals are equipped with some such facility which allows them to detect danger at a vast distance away beyond the range of vision or hearing or alternatively to allow one mind to communicate with another. Many believe that the study of extrasensory perception (ESP) is legitimate branch of modern psychology. Communist-turned philosopher Arthur Koestler left his vast fortune on his committing suicide, for research in a related field, parapsychology (Para Manovigyan).

The main argument against ESP is that no one has been able to detect any mechanism in any part of the brain which could possibly transmitting or receiving the messages conveyed by the sixth sense. Believers in ESP reply, that a mechanism is discovered any time or that perhaps, such mechanism may not be necessary. Any how, psychologists say people are much better at collecting information without actual speech, through changes in facial expression, nervous movements, shifts eyes or even long period of silence which gives important clues about what is going in the other’s mind. Is ESP a perfect art of exploiting such indicators or is it something more remains a controversy.

( I would like to give a live example experienced myself….I was in Riyad (Saudi Arab) in 2004. A new born baby to my daughter-in law Namkarana was to be performed. My parents went in that religious Ceremony. My father said that Subhash is coming in Deepawali, Now everyone was asking me if I will be coming in Deepawali ? I said it will not be possible for me to come with in a short period of stay, but here the Para Psychology plays a role. The Saikh (Owner of the organization where I was working) asked me Mr. Rawat you go to China visit these factories for 15 days and go to India your home, say hello to your family, celebrates Deepawali and come back. In spite of objection by my seniors, Saikh said no let him go… the Job is not going to be hampered, and I was in India at my home in Deepawali.)

Seeking to understand ESP is psychical science, which is the scientific study of the paranormal in particular extrasensory powers of mind and also study of supernatural beings. Parapsychology the investigation of ESP in a laboratory setting is part of psychic research. Psychic research got a firm footing in 1882 when a group of scholars formed a society for psychical research in London, which exists till today.

i. The first experiment in this slightly eccentric field of science was heavenly tied with spiritualism. Many eminent figures of the time, the great physicist Sir Oliver Lodge and Sir William Crookes, Alfared Russel Wallace, co-discoverer with Darwin of the theory of evolution and the brilliant creator of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Canon Doyle all became confirmed spiritualists as a result of their experiments.

ii. The second phase in psychical research was a period of Ghost hunting marked by a member of frauds, which resulted in increasingly critical attitude among scientists towards the research.

iii. The third phase began in 1927. When, Dr. JB Rhine formed the parapsychology laboratory, at Duke University in north Cayolina. The laboratory encouraged lab studies along with the traditional experimental psychology. By 1940s Rhine was claiming irrefutable evidence of phenomena like telepathy but critics pointed out that Rhino’s tests were hardly replicable in the laboratories of other scientists.

The failure of ESP to be easily repeatable has let to growing skepticism among scientists who question whether psychic research and parapsychology have really advanced the understanding of the world of paranormal in any way.

Rhine’s lab has been closed in 1965 but scientists like Dr. Helmut Schmidt have carried on research in the field. A new Chair and research laboratory has been introduced at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

iv. Now, the fourth phase is beginning to take shape with unflagging interest of the people, if not all the scientists, in the subject. The American Association for the advancement of Science admitted the parapsychology Association (the leading organization for professional para -psychologists) as an affiliated member society. An American Government body, the National Institute and Mental Health, has also officially supported some medical research into alleged telepathic dreams the first “official” grant supports of this kind. In Britain a poll of readers a weekly journal. New scientist revealed a very high interest in parapsychology and active research is currently going on at the Department of Psychology at Cambridge. Stories of intensive para-psychological research are. Soviet Union is however without foundation and is not supported by Western para-psychologist, which has visited Russia.

Incorporeal personal Agency means a person without Physical shape. Physical shape (Body) made out of two natural elements. All these three (Physical, Wiliness and Conscious Body) fully developed then a live soul enters in it. Aayu (Age), Karma, Vit, Vidya (Education), and Nidhan (Death). These five are determined by Brahma to the child in the womb of mother.

Man live with these three bodies (Physical, Wiliness and Conscious Body). These three bodies are similar. As concern with life each one of the body depends on the other.
