Mind and Soul

All great discoveries and inventions and revolutions of the world have been instigated by people who were powered by their soul rather than the mind, or materialistic considerations. That is why these were path breaking in nature and are eternal- be it Penicillin, or the Law of Gravity, or the invention of the light bulb- material benefits did not even occur to their creators- their only motivation was to CREATE something and pursue their passion triggered by their soul, which incidentally went on to become the basis of innovations in the present civilization. But for Archimedes, the best of Yachts would not be gracing the oceans of the world.

All these happened because these people tapped their astha shaktis आस्था शक्ति by divine providence. We haven't seen any of that momentous kind of leadership in any field in recent times, and that is because the present society operates through the mind and has kept the soul away from it all. What motivates our leaders is materialistic gains, and not welfare of society, or even personal creative satisfaction. This has led to the present deterioration in times.

I personally wish I had known the right approach to leading my life and career much earlier. Somehow these messages were lost to the world all this while; nobody told me earlier that I should use my soul power in all aspects of my life.

This message should reach to youngsters at least now, so that leaders with soul power will emerge in the future. This is the need of the hour and the Divine Mother has heard our call! There will be a paradigm shift in the nature of human beings in the days to come.

TRUTH

Truth has a very important role to play in our day to day life. It is a fundamental value and its adherence is considered the common duty for all mankind, all through life. It is said that god is truth and truth in philosophy is god in religion it is the very foundation for a good life. Following the principles of truth makes us strong from within, gives us credibility and respect for others, an integrated personality, peace of mind, confidence and fearlessness. It spreads goodness and integrates society. A truly honest man has the strength to make mighty powers bow before him. In Story of RAMAYANA When Sita entered the fire to prove her purity, even the fire changed its nature and became cold.

From early childhood we are told to speak the truth. Religion, too, advises us to do the same so difficult to follow. Why? To state facts as they are without exaggeration or hiding is to be honest. Half –truths or exaggerated facts fall in the realm of untruths. When facts show us in a bad light or deny us some material benefit or lead us to discomfort, we generally resort to untruth. If I told someone I do not pay taxes, I would be known as a cheat. So I lie. If I lie about my caste, I would be eligible for admission in a good college, even without getting good grades. So I lie. If I confess I have stolen, I would be jailed. So I lie.

Popular opinion holds that, “Honest people suffer. The dishonest become rich, succeed, come to power and are respected. Therefore, dishonesty pays.” Is this true? Superficially dishonesty seems to win but, on a closer look, we realize that this has disastrous consequences. When we lie, there is a doer-knower split within us. This causes agitation, tension, fear of discovery, more lies, low self-esteem, disintegrated personality, lack of confidence, no will- power, etc. erroneously, we believe that dishonesty pays and continue to harm ourselves through untruths. Even when a person lies, he swears that he is speaking the truth. The lie succeeds only when it is considered to be the truth. Criminal activities also survive because of truth. Untruth has no face to show. It comes in the garb to truth alone.

It is a strange phenomenon that though we may lie, we want others to speak the truth. The lawyer expects his client to tell him the truth, even though he may lay order to prove him innocent. We want others to be truthful and this by itself shows the value we have for truth.

Man has to pull himself up and overcome his mean motives, humiliating weakness, dilatory tactics, and running away from duty. The Bhagvat Gita’s clarion call is to imbibe a certain faith in moral values and religious truths, execute them with a vigorous will and translate them into action.

Devotion, the Gita says, is not sentimental worship or an expression of excited emotions. It is carrying out God’s bidding. To love and adore God is to live aright. It is in a sense looking for the Lord in fellow-beings.

Tradition in India affirms that the song –celestial or the sermon on the battlefield was delivered by Lord Krishna (The Gita). The grief-stricken companion of God-incarnate and representative of human weakness Arjuna suddenly excused himself from waging the righteous war, under the mask of false compassion in the context of duty. This classic message where the Lord clarifies several doubts which a man usually harbours is enshrined in the Mahabharata, an encyclopaedia of Hindu ethics, Law, Politics and sociology, sublime in its contexts.

Unlike common man, they are never self-centred and their thoughts will always be directed towards God and they will only speak of the traits of God and will be engaged in spreading old message of love. They will show affection even to the all.

Commandments Like “Speak the Truth” “Render Justice” should never be disrespected God. Incarnating as Sri Rama and Sri Krishna have demonstrated how by observing the various moral codes, man can certainly brave any of the smiling face of Lord Krishna reminds how should meet the challenges with fortitude.

In this context the study of the holy texts from the younger days helps a person to get his mind conditioned. By listening to the glorious deeds of God in the world, man will develop devotion and get him equipped with the power to resist attempts to lure him. When desires are rooted out, problems will vanish indeed such a desire less person will have no cause to get upset or dejected.

Every man has to possess spiritual and worldly wisdom. A proper Guide imparts person with spiritual wisdom and worldly wisdom is received through a teacher. But enlightened person can in addition keep his eyes wide open and draw lessons from various creations of God. The elements of nature, the birds, animals, and other human beings all have certain special characteristics, which can serve an example for mankind to follow. Persons enclosed with the capacity to investigate can derive inspiration from these representatives of God.

By observation and inference we can understand what the ultimate “Truth” is Lord Krishna points out in Bhagawat Gita how man can analyse the reactions of each one of the objects which are caused to appear in the world. By such a deep study he can get himself reformed and develop distaste for worldly activities. From whom he could receive lessons. They include the Earth, Air, and the Sky, Water the Python, the Bee a libertine, spider and the Moon.

Baba Kedarnath

केदारनाथ मंदिर की एक और ऐसी हकीकत जिससे कम लोग ही वाकिफ होंगे। वैज्ञानिकों के मुताबिक केदारनाथ मंदिर 400 साल तक बर्फ के नीचे दबा था, लेकिन फिर भी उसे कुछ नहीं हुआ। इसीलिए जियोलॉजिस्ट और वैज्ञानिक इस बात से हैरान नहीं हैं कि ताजा जलप्रलय में केदारनाथ मंदिर बच गया। 400 साल तक बर्फ के नीचे दबा था केदारनाथ मंदिर, चार सौ साल तक ग्लेशियर से ढंका था केदारनाथ मंदिर। चार सौ साल तक ग्लेशियर के भयानक बोझ को सह चुका है केदारनाथ मंदिर। जी हां, ये कहना है देहरादून के वाडिया इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ हिमालयन जियोलॉजी के वैज्ञानिकों का। शायद यही वजह है कि केदारनाथ मंदिर को जल प्रलय के थपेड़ों से कोई नुकसान नहीं हुआ।

केदारनाथ मंदिर के पत्थरों पर पीली रेखाएं हैं। वैज्ञानिकों के मुताबिक ये निशान दरअसल ग्लेशियर के रगड़ से बने हैं। ग्लेशियर हर वक्त खिसकते रहते हैं और जब वो खिसकते हैं तो उनके साथ न सिर्फ बर्फ का वजन होता है बल्कि साथ में वो जितनी चीजें लिए चलते हैं वो भी रगड़ खाती हुई चलती हैं। अब सोचिए जब करीब 400 साल तक मंदिर ग्लेशियर से दबा रहा होगा तो इस दौरान ग्लेशियर की कितनी रगड़ इन पत्थरों ने झेली होगी। वैज्ञानिकों के मुताबिक मंदिर के अंदर की दीवारों पर भी इसके साफ निशान हैं। बाहर की ओर पत्थरों पर ये रगड़ दिखती है तो अंदर की तरफ पत्थर ज्यादा समतल हैं जैसे उन्हें पॉलिश किया गया हो।

दरअसल 1300 से लेकर 1900 ईसवीं के दौर को लिटिल आईस एज यानि छोटा हिमयुग कहा जाता है। इसकी वजह है इस दौरान धरती के एक बड़े हिस्से का एक बार फिर बर्फ से ढंक जाना। माना जाता है कि इसी दौरान केदारनाथ मंदिर और ये पूरा इलाका बर्फ से दब गया और केदारनाथ धाम का ये इलाका भी ग्लेशियर बन गया। केदारनाथ मंदिर की उम्र को लेकर कोई दस्तावेजी सबूत नहीं मिलते। इस बेहद मजबूत मंदिर को बनाया किसने इसे लेकर कई कहानियां प्रचलित हैं। कुछ कहते हैं कि 1076 से लेकर 1099 विक्रमसंवत तक राज करने वाले मालवा के राजा भोज ने ये मंदिर बनवाया था। तो कुछ कहते हैं कि आठवीं शताब्दी में ये मंदिर आदिशंकराचार्य ने बनवाया था। बताया जाता है कि द्वापर युग में पांडवों ने मौजूदा केदारनाथ मंदिर के ठीक पीछे एक मंदिर बनवाया था। लेकिन वो वक्त के थपेड़े सह न सका। वैसे गढ़वाल विकास निगम के मुताबिक मंदिर आठवीं शताब्दी में आदिशंकराचार्य ने बनवाया था। यानि छोटे हिमयुग का दौर जो कि 1300 ईसवी से शुरू हुआ उससे पहले ही मंदिर बन चुका था।

वाडिया इंस्टीट्यूट के वैज्ञानिकों ने केदारनाथ इलाके की लाइकोनोमेट्रिक डेटिंग भी की, लाइकोनोमेट्रिक डेटिंग एक तकनीक है जिसके जरिए पत्थरों और ग्लेशियर के जरिए उस जगह की उम्र का अंदाजा लगता है। ये दरअसल उस जगह के शैवाल और कवक को मिलाकर उनके जरिए समय का अनुमान लगाने की तकनीक है। लाइकोनोमेट्रिक डेटिंग के मुताबिक छोटे हिमयुग के दौरान केदारनाथ धाम इलाके में ग्लेशियर का निर्माण 14वीं सदी के मध्य में शुरू हुआ। और इस घाटी में ग्लेशियर का बनना 1748 ईसवीं तक जारी रहा। अगर 400 साल तक ये मंदिर ग्लेशियर के बोझ को सह चुका है और सैलाब के थपेड़ों को झेलकर बच चुका है तो जाहिर है इसे बनाने की तकनीक भी बेहद खास रही होगी। जाहिर है शायद इसे बनाते वक्त इन बातों का ध्यान रखा गया होगा कि ये कहां है क्या ये बर्फ, ग्लेशियर और सैलाब के थपेड़ों को सह सकता है।

दरअसल केदारनाथ का ये पूरा इलाका चोराबरी ग्लेशियर का हिस्सा है। ये पूरा इलाका केदारनाथ धाम और मंदिर तीन तरफ से पहाड़ों से घिरा है। एक तरफ है करीब 22 हजार फीट ऊंचा केदारनाथ। दूसरी तरफ है 21,600 फीट ऊंचा खर्चकुंड। तीसरी तरफ है 22,700 फीट ऊंचा भरतकुंड। न सिर्फ तीन पहाड़ बल्कि पांच नदियों का संगम भी है यहां मंदाकिनी, मधुगंगा, क्षीरगंगा, सरस्वती और स्वर्णद्वरी। वैसे इसमें से कई नदियों को काल्पनिक माना जाता है। लेकिन यहां इस इलाके में मंदाकिनी का राज है यानि सर्दियों में भारी बर्फ और बारिश में जबरदस्त पानी। जब इस मंदिर की नींव रखी गई होगी तब भी शिव भाव का ध्यान रखा गया होगा। शिव जहां रक्षक हैं वहीं शिव विनाशक भी हैं। इसीलिए शिव की आराधना के इस स्थल को खास तौर पर बनाया गया। ताकि वो रक्षा भी कर सके और विनाश भी झेल सके। 85 फीट ऊंचा, 187 फीट लंबा और 80 फीट चौड़ा है केदारनाथ मंदिर। इसकी दीवारें 12 फीट मोटी हैं और बेहद मजबूत पत्थरों से बनाई गई हैं। मंदिर को 6 फीट ऊंचे चबूतरे पर खड़ा किया गया है।

ये हैरतअंगेज है कि इतने साल पहले इतने भारी पत्थरों को इतनी ऊंचाई पर लाकर, यूं तराश कर कैसे मंदिर की शक्ल दी गई होगी। जानकारों का मानना है कि केदारनाथ मंदिर को बनाने में, बड़े पत्थरों को एक दूसरे में फिट करने में इंटरलॉकिंग तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया गया होगा। ये तकनीक ही नदी के बीचों बीच खड़े मंदिरों को भी सदियों तक अपनी जगह पर रखने में कामयाब रही है।

लेकिन ताजा जल प्रलय के बाद अब वैज्ञानिकों को इस बात का खतरा सता रहा है कि लगातार पिघलते ग्लेशियर की वजह से। ऊपर पहाड़ों में मौजूद सरोवर लगातार बढ़ते जा रहे हैं और जैसा कि केदारनाथ में हुआ। गांधी सरोवर ज्यादा पानी से फट कर नीचे सैलाब की शक्ल में आया। वैसा आगे भी हो सकता है और अगर मंदिर पहाड़ों से गिरे इस चट्टानों के लीधे ज़द में आ गया तो उसे बड़ा नुकसान हो सकता है। साथ ही ये खतरा केदारनाथ घाटी पर हमेशा के लिए मंडराता रहेगा।
