EFFECTS OF THE COLORS ON THE HUMAN BEINGS

Color Symbolism studies in INDIA date back to Vedic times. What the great Rishis discovered then about the physiological and psychological effects of color on human beings is today borne out by scientific experiments.

Devnagri speaks in fluent colors. The letters of Devnagri alphabet also called Varans Literally meaning colors have been assigned colors on the strength of their sound vibrations.

The sixteen vowels are red like the setting Sun. The consonants are in five colors bands. Starting with vermilion followed by luminous blue. Then brilliant white- likes a flash of lighting. Going on to shining gold. And finally pitch Black.

We hear sloka or a mantra may be we will see the chanting in a spectrum of colors.

Light is the only energy, we can see, and we see it in the form of color. Our most important energy source is light, and the entire spectrum of colors is derived from light. Sunlight, which contains all the wavelengths, consists of the entire electromagnetic spectrum that we depend on to exist on this planet.

Light flows through our eyes and triggers hormone production, which influences our entire complex biochemical system. This biochemical system then affects our being. And light does not travel alone. Light travels with other energies like

Cosmic rays

Gamma rays

X-rays

Ultra Violet rays.

Long radio waves

Short Radio waves.

Micro waves

Infra red rays and rain bow spectrum (VIBGYOR)

We know that each colour found in the visible light spectrum has its own wavelength and its own frequency, which produces a specific energy and has a nutritive effect. We know some rays can be dangerous if we are exposed to them. But the visible light, the rainbow, (VIBGYOR) has soothing effect on us.

God and Nature

Of all parts of Nature, only man puts his own interest before the needs of the system. How we can operate according to the altruistic laws of Nature, which is the same as God.

"Every molecule, every cell, every organ ... has self-interest. When every level in the body shows its self-interest, it forces negotiations among the levels. This is the secret of Nature. Every moment in our body, these negotiations drive our systems to harmony."

The cells in organisms unite by reciprocal giving for the sake of sustaining the whole body. Each cell in the body receives what it needs for its sustenance, and spends the rest of its energy tending to the rest of the body. At every level of Nature, the individual works to benefit the whole of which it is a part, and in that finds its wholeness. Without selfless activities, a body cannot persist. In fact, life itself cannot persist.

Science acknowledge that the biggest, if not the only, problem with our world are we. Below are two examples of such states of mind:

"I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image"

"And in simple words we shall say that the nature of each and every individual is to exploit the lives of all other people in the world for his own benefit, and all that he gives to another is only out of necessity. Even in that there is exploitation, but it is done cunningly, so that his friend will not feel it"

Thousands of scientists, judging by the latest reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, already state that we must stop working against Nature, as we have been doing for centuries, and begin to work in harmony with it. They explain that Nature already knows what to do and when to do it. If we only get out of the way, things will sort themselves out. Just as each body has its immune system; Nature has mechanisms that maintain its balance.

This balance is a dynamic equilibrium controlled by interrelated regulation mechanisms, in which Nature thinks not of particular elements within it, but of the whole system. Just imagine the havoc our body would fall into, if each organ cared only for its own good, instead of caring for the good of the whole body.

In such a state, organs would steal blood vessels from one another, denying neighbouring organs nourishment and oxygen. Organs producing antibodies would direct them against other organs because other organs would be considered foreign bodies, and the ones with the strongest antibodies would destroy the other organs. Soon, very soon, the body would die, and its self-centred organs would die with it. When such a process happens in an organism, it is called "cancer."

The fact that Nature does exist and that it isn't destroying itself every single moment is proof that Nature does not work egoistically. It is a proof that Nature works as a system, putting the well-being of the system before the well-being of its parts. When the system's needs come before the needs of the part, it is called "altruism." In an altruistic system, the particular elements constantly contribute to the system, whether it is an organism or a human society.

Humans, in almost every aspect, are just another animal species. But there is one aspect in which we are different from Nature: We put our own interest before the interest of the system. This is the essence of egoism. We don't need to teach animals, plants or rocks how to behave. Their behaviour is always in harmony with Nature, altruistic, putting the system's needs before their own. This is why when prey animals hunt, they hunt only enough to sustain themselves, and thus maintain the natural balance of their habitat.

But humans don't hunt to eat; they hunt to gain wealth, to exploit. This is why we have penalties for poaching. The only problem with the human race is that, unlike animals, it runs on an egoistic "operating system" instead of an altruistic one. To mend ourselves and to stop disrupting Nature's homeostasis, we need to install an altruistic operating system instead of our current, faulty system.

And to find the missing disk, we need to go to the "program vendor," the Creator. The words "God" and "Nature" are synonymous. This is why they have the same numeric value: 86.

We can replace the egoistic disk with an altruistic one, and today, when many already recognize that a real change of heart is necessary, they are stepping to the fore and introducing it to the world.

Just as we turn to the program vendor when software we install doesn't work, when human nature fails us, we must ask the "nature vendor" to provide us with one that works properly.

The Creator is a force of love and wants to bestow His love. Hence, He created in us a desire to receive delight and pleasure. As a result, all our choices aim to increase our pleasure or decrease our pain. Every mineral, plant, animal, or person wants only one thing: to feel pleasure or avoid pain. Without the prospect of future pleasure, we simply cannot live.

The belief that in the future we will be happy is what we call "hope." When we say, "I'm hopeful," we really mean that we believe in the likelihood of experiencing joy and pleasure in the future. Otherwise, what can we be hopeful about? Thus, all our choices reflect our desire for pleasure.

Lord Shiva Leela

Parvati, the Fisherwoman

Shiva once took it upon himself to explain the Brahmandayana, or mysteries of the universe, to his wife Parvati. She herself was eager to learn all there was to know.

So, Shiva began to explain the story behind the creation of this vast universe to her. She listened attentively at first, concentrating on what her husband was saying. She listened and listened and listened…and this went on for several years. But there was no end in sight to Shiva’s lesson. Finally, though she tried very hard, Parvati lost her focus. Shiva saw this and got angry at her change of behaviour.

“Parvati, if you think what I am saying is boring, I shall stop. If you cannot concentrate on something so important, you should have been born to fisher folk so that you could do hard work and not think about such matters.”

Parvati was hurt but Shiva felt even worse for his harsh words. Alas, before he could do anything about it, Parvati had disappeared from their home. Shiva felt extremely sad and regretted his words. “How am I to live without my beloved wife,” he thought to himself.

 A Parvara Girl Is Born

His words had come true! Far away down on earth, Parvati had taken birth as a baby girl and lay sheltered under a tree. Within no time, a group of fishermen, the Parvaras, walked by and their chief saw the baby. He picked her up and was immediately enchanted by the baby’s beauty. “The gods have blessed me. What a lovely child. I will bring her up as my own daughter,” he said. The chief took the baby home. He named her Parvati. Little did he know that the baby he called his daughter was actually the goddess who was revered by all.

Parvati grew up to be a lovely girl. She would accompany her father on his boat as he went fishing. Everyone in the clan adored her. But the one who loved her most was far away on Mount Kailash, pining for her and wondering how to get her back. He was upset at being alone in his abode. He could not bear the separation from the goddess.

Observing this, one day, his trusted guard, Nandi, appealed to him, “O dear Lord, why don’t you bring her back? You know she is living with the Parvaras.” Shiva shook his head sorrowfully and replied, “No, Nandi. She was raised by the fisher folk and she will marry a fisherman in this life. That is the law of the world.” Sighing, he went back to his brooding. Nandi, however, did not give up. He had a plan to unite his master and mistress.

 Nandi the Shark

He went down to earth and taking the form of a shark, jumped into the sea. Then he set off for the coast where the Parvaras lived. Suddenly, two Parvaras fishermen out at sea saw this great big shark coming towards them. They started to turn away but it was too late. The shark had capsized the boat and the two fishermen fell into the water.

Over the next few days, the shark continued to trouble the fishermen. It tore their nets, overturned their boats and was a nuisance. Finally, the chief called for a meeting and said, “Anyone who can capture this shark can claim my daughter’s hand in marriage.”

Many brave young men tried to take the shark but failed. Giving up hope, the Parvaras offered prayers to the Shivalinga. Parvati too prayed very hard. “O Lord Shiva, please help us. We are all suffering because of this shark. Please help us.” Shiva, even in his sorrow, heard this voice and knew it was time to help the Parvaras. Besides, he would finally get to meet his wife.

Taking the form of a young fisher boy, he went to the coastal village of the Parvaras and met the chief, “I will stop this shark. Do not worry. It will not bother you after today.”

He then took a large net and waded into the water. Nandi, in his shark form, saw the young boy approach and recognised that he was none other than Shiva. He smiled to himself, “Ah! My Lord has come. My work here is now done.” He did not put up a fight when the boy threw the net over him.
Everyone in the clan rejoiced. Parvati, too, was glad that such a courageous and skilled fisherman was going to be her husband. The chief, as promised, gave Parvati’s hand in marriage to the boy. Shiva was finally united with his wife and together they made their way back to Kailash.

Extra sensory perception :- (Indrayativ anubhava)

Is there a sixth sense? Many people believe that humans and animals are equipped with some such facility which allows them to detect danger at a vast distance away beyond the range of vision or hearing or alternatively to allow one mind to communicate with another. Many believe that the study of extrasensory perception (ESP) is legitimate branch of modern psychology. Communist-turned philosopher Arthur Koestler left his vast fortune on his committing suicide, for research in a related field, parapsychology.

The main argument against ESP is that no one has been able to detect any mechanism in any part of the brain which could possibly transmitting or receiving the messages conveyed by the sixth sense. Believers in ESP reply, that a mechanism is discovered any time or that perhaps, such mechanism may not be necessary. Anyhow, psychologists say people are much better at collecting information without actual speech, through changes in facial expression, nervous movements, shifts eyes or even long period of silence which gives important clues about what is going in the other’s mind. Is ESP a perfect art of exploiting such indicators or is it something more remains a controversy.

Seeking to understand ESP is psychical science, which is the scientific study of the paranormal in particular extrasensory powers of mind and also study of supernatural beings. Parapsychology the investigation of ESP in a laboratory setting is part of psychic research. Psychic research got a firm footing in 1882 when a group of scholars formed a society for psychical research in London, which exists till today

i.          The first experiment in this slightly eccentric field of science was heavenly tied with spiritualism. Many eminent figures of the time, the great physicist Sir Oliver Lodge and Sir William Crookes, Alfared Russel Wallace, co-discoverer with Darwin of the theory of evolution and the brilliant creator of Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Canon Doyle all became confirmed spiritualists as a result of their experiments.

ii.            The second phase in psychical research was a period of Ghost hunting marked by a member of frauds, which resulted in increasingly critical attitude among scientists towards the research.

iii.           The third phase began in 1927. When, Dr. JB Rhine formed the parapsychology laboratory, at Duke University in north Cayolina. The laboratory encouraged lab studies along with the traditional experimental psychology. By 1940s Rhine was claiming irrefutable evidence of phenomena like telepathy but critics pointed out that Rhino’s tests were hardly replicable in the laboratories of other scientists.

The failure of ESP to be easily repeatable has let to growing skepticism among scientists who question whether psychic research and parapsychology have really advanced the understanding of the world of paranormal in any way.

Rhine’s lab has been closed in 1965 but scientists like Dr. Helmut Schmidt have carried on research in the field. A new Chair and research laboratory has been introduced at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands.

iv.           Now, the fourth phase is beginning to take shape with unflagging interest of the people, if not all the scientists, in the subject. The American Association for the advancement of Science admitted the parapsychology Association (the leading organization for professional para-psychologists) as an affiliated member society. An American Government body, the National Institute and Mental Health, has also officially supported some medical research into alleged telepathic dreams the first “official” grant supports of this kind. In Britain a poll of readers a weekly journal. New scientist revealed a very high interest in parapsychology and active research is currently going on at the Department of Psychology at Cambridge. Stories of intensive para-psychological research are. Soviet Union is however without foundation and is not supported by Western para-psychologist, which has visited Russia.

Incorporeal personal Agency means a person without Physical shape. Physical shape (Body) made out of two natural elements. These are called OVUM & SPERM, Ovum has got two additional elements, which develops along with body development in the womb. And make wiliness body & Conscious body. All these three (Physical, Wiliness and Conscious Body) fully developed then a live soul enters in it. (Age, Deed, Wealth, Education and Death) All these Five according to Viranchi (Brahma ji) determines with the child in mother’s womb at the time of Birth) Man live with these three bodies. These three bodies are similar. As concern with life each one of the body depends on the other.

Philosophy:

The dictionary definition of Philosophy is the “Study or Science of the Truths and principles underlying all knowledge and being.” For the ancient Greeks (Considered the famous of western philosophy), the world denoted “Philos (Love) and “Sophia” (Wisdom) literally meaning, “Love for Wisdom”.

Hindu Philosophy

In India Philosophy is called “Darshanam” which roughly means the special insight into the truths of life. Note the word Truths. Nothing to do with fantasy or more utopianism. That is also the sublime basis of all sciences.

In the west, the bifurcation of science and philosophy took place during the Renaissance, the “Great awakening.” People rooting for free thinking wanted all knowledge to be redeemed from the authority of the church on the one hand and from Aristotelian logic on the other. They wanted to observe and learn, and thus brought their search into the shape of sciences like Physics, Chemistry, Alchemy, Astronomy, Mathematics, Mechanics, and Medicine.

Rene Descartes of France (The father of Modern Philosophy) introduced the mathematical method into philosophy for the first time, stripped its Godly pretensions, and limited God to just bridging the gap between two primary substances which he called matter and mind. These two were autonomous entities, according to him, and functioned mechanically with their own inherent laws.

Francis Bacon Philosopher of England threw out age-old concepts of deductive reasoning in Aristotelian methods. He substitutes them with his own brand of logic, called the “Inductive” or Scientific method. He established a strong foundation for empirical philosophy also.

Later, empirical philosophers like Locke, Berkley and Hume denounced metaphysics and brought in newer trends of phenomenalism, Skepticism and critical Realism.

The age-old division of philosophy into metaphysics, epistemology, and Axiology met its own end when empirical philosophers reduced it to a mere analysis of language. Metaphysics and its divisions Cosmology and ontology were declared impossible, if it were a search for reality beyond the empirical world. Epistemology in now redundant and Axiology is considered subjective.

Question bothers natural scientists and bugs philosophers. Those in the physical sciences almost look down upon philosophy, dismissing it as an abstract, utopian and idealistic, with no basis in the claptrap of reality.

But, what is in reality? Is philosophy Fantasy? Is it more of an art, like poetry, or can it ever come to be hard science, like Geometry, or is it halfway between the two?

In effect, philosophy has gone through all these stages. The Riguvedic poet is a philosopher expressing his emotions, towards the various forces of nature, which controls his life, while early Greek philosophers eulogized the world in a poetic and scientific spirit. According to philosophers though, it is the “Queen of Sciences” in the sense that before any of the empirical sciences were borne, philosophy was rich and alive and led in fact to the birth of psychology, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry etc.

Although less authoritative traditional texts, the great Sanskrit epic poems are probably the most influential pieces of literature in the whole Indian tradition. The Mahabharata tells of the Great War between two royal families, the Pandavas and the Kauravas ending in their mutual destruction. The enormously influential Bhagavad-Gita is a section of this epic. The Ramayana relates the legend of Prince Rama, usurped from his throne and exiled, his beautiful wife Sita kidnapped by the demon Ravana, his calm self-control and noble generosity provides an example of admirable conduct. They both probably originate in oral traditions of the middle of the first millennium B.C.E. and were written down between that time and the 4th century C.E.

Life Is Like A Classroom

You may have wanted to do more or not but when you have done what you were meant to do, you will move on. Nature will so arrange events that you will leave this realm naturally.

Each life is like a classroom wherein you learn a certain amount and go through a certain number of lessons and tests. Then you graduate to the next class. We can learn willingly or unwillingly. We can cooperate or be uncooperative. We can repeatedly keep going through it until we learn all of the necessary lessons we need in order to go to the next level. That is our choice. And if you fail any of these tests, do not worry. You will have the chance to try all over again. Therefore, let go of any fear and let God put you where you will make the most progress.

Trust that God will take care of you and that He will allow you to accomplish what you need to learn and attain. It may not be what you have in mind or expect, but it will be for your ultimate good, which means that it will always be better and more than you expect, and may be more than you can presently understand.

Self Motivation

“What one can be, one must be.”

Self Motivation is the inspiration between behaviour and the actions. It is an important mechanism that will help to reach the goal, without the external influence. Self motivation improves self confidence and self esteem, as well as gives strength to achieve the goal. Self motivation is important in every aspect of life, be it career, social life, health, fitness and personality development.

Self Motivation is a non-efficient method. If you concentrate yourself, you don’t have to depend on any external method.

Dreams- Without having dreamed you cannot achieve your goal. Only when you have dream you will be determined to follow it and make it real.

Make concrete plan- (Set a Goal) it is very important to make a realistic goal. They should not be extraordinary and un-reachable.

Success- First discovers your strength, your farts and your limits, only then set your goal.

Failure- your action plan should be flexible so that it lasts longer and you will be able to achieve your goals.

Positive attitude- your attitude is your biggest assets. Positive thinking is extremely important as your thoughts and attitude will influence your plans and actions. Don’t let negative people and thoughts influence you. Do not get frustrated and depressed. You should consider on your positive aspects and achievements.

Success- Start with a small step. Always try to take a small step towards your goal. It is observed that most people have their plans ready, but they find it extremely difficult to take a small step. Once you begin, it is easier to continue, don’t fear of making mistakes because, the mistakes are the best way to learn the correct things. Remember the failure is followed by the success.

Consistencies- steadiness and regularity in your actions is very essential. Strength your interest and destine to success.

Ask yourself some question as shown below with a deep thought:

  • Do you ever wish become better person, better son, better father, better mother?
  • Are you tired of putting a lot of effort & getting nothing at the end?
  • Are you sick of not being paid enough to fulfill your needs?
  • Do you wish to work for a better tomorrow?
  • Do you wish to work for better education for your children in the future?
  • Do you wish to buy whatever you want whenever you want?
  • Would you like to be a reason of changing others’ lives by putting a clear impact on their lives?
  • Would you really like to work in an environment similar to family’s environment?
  • Do you wish to live better life style?
  • Do you really want to make a difference in your life & in others’ lives? If your answer to any of……

Nothing Grows Under a Banyan Tree

There is a beautiful tree outside my gate. It is strangely human – it sleeps. As dusk approaches all its leaves droop and hang limp and drowsy. People here call it the ‘sleepy face’ tree.

After a long day at work I feel a special kinship with it. I’m frankly enchanted by its wide spreading branches which reach out umbrella like to provide an oasis of dappled shade; by the way its leaves are darkly outlined against the sky when I look up. Its furry pink flowers and even the dry leaves that crackle under my feet as I go up the cement walk before our house, please me.

I could find no fault with my tree until I saw what it was doing to my jasmine bush. The flowers of this particular plant are my favorite. They emanate a lush fragrance from their heavily petaled blooms.
Contentment are Essential for Success

Human Conduct has direct relationship with the food that is consumed. A person should be extremely cautious and should not lunch or dine with everyone. He should refrain from eating with men who have dubious distinction about their status or prosperity. He should not consume food at odd hours or stuff his stomach when it is already full. There should also be restriction on the quality of the items taken. An episode recalls how a gentleman offers his lunch with a friend unwittingly carried away a silver tumbler. Later he came to regret about this incident and tendered his apology. The host enquired his wife whether there was anything wrong with the food served. She then recalled that the rice was borrowed from a neighbor who had been in the habit of pilfering stocks from carrier vehicles.

A great social reformer and philosopher Ram Theertha has narrated this to impress on the public that there should be control over dietary habits. The success the Saintly man with was due to contentment and making himself ever happy. The cheer that a person radiates or his sullen outlook depends on his attitude towards worldly activities. Born amidst chill penury, he rose to the position of a professor, a dream that he had cherished. He preached and practiced the rules of virtue. He spread the message of God through popular tales and parables. No one should get upset by problems.

Rama Theeratha, who renounced everything of a young age, has referred to the tendency to get deeply dejected. He has compared the general behavior of a human being to that of a dog pushed into a chamber on whose walls were fixed innumerable mirrors. Seeing the reflection of its own, it started barking endlessly, and ultimately collapsed. Similarly man gets agitated over imaginary problems and gets lost. He is always selfish and his actions can be likened to the monkey that carried its three off springs across a swollen river but when its own existence was threatened discarded the young ones.

One of the bitterest results of India’s unconsciousness of her spiritual unity is communalism and all ideologies which separate man from man, and religion from religion are born of ignorance of the spiritual unity and solidarity of humankind.

Communalism, which has entered into the depth of the body politics and is eating into its vitals, is a mere symptom of India’s National disease. All aberrations and their expressions will be eliminated from her national body, only when her life-force, which is spirituality, is awakened and brought to bear an all aspect of her life. By proper education and by a new order established in culture, society, and economic life on her own national basis. The first thing necessary therefore is to awaken the consciousness of India’s own distinctive life-force, which is spiritual oneness, other wise called religion.

At the end it is said that (Jaisa Khao Aann Vaisa Ho Mann).

Virtual Reality and Nirvana

All our experiences and knowledge of the physical world are through our five senses of taste, smell, touch, sight and hearing. Together with this is our sixth sense the intuition. We enjoy the world or suffer pain through our senses. These sense signals when processed by brain give us awareness, a feeling of individuality, and desires. These desires have to be satisfied and resolved because unresolved desires produce greed and create tremendous long-term psychological knots in the brain. Resolution of desires is the first step towards achievement of spirituality and reduction of greed.

Yet fulfillment of desires requires considerable investment in energy and resources and is the cause of unsustainable development world over. Modern technology of Virtual Reality (VR) may provide a mechanism to satiate our desires at almost zero cost and energy.

Virtual reality (VR) is a creation of virtual 3D world in which one can feel and sense the world as if it is real. It is normally achieved by donning a headgear. The gear contains the screen, which is attached to a computer with the necessary software so that a virtual 3D world is seen. The increasing sophistication in this technology allows the sense of touch (by wearing hand sensors like a glove), smell and hearing through the head gear. VR experience is akin to sitting and watching a film in a 70-mm film theater or a planetarium but with interactive process where one can change the scenes and be a part of the scenery. It allows one to get a full blast of information to the senses and hence can allow us to enjoy the world and thus satiate our desires to certain extent.

The VR process is being used presently by scientists and engineers for designing technologies. It is allowing engineers to design machines and engines in real time as if the actual machine is being changed. However like Internet, which was initially developed to aid scientists and technologists but came into mainstream, VR will also come into the mainstream and will be used by everybody. The technologies in VR are expanding so rapidly that in a matter of years we will have almost real life experiences of flying, tasting objects, moving them, smelling them and even have a feel of their texture. Maybe pornography will be the first offshoot of this process!

Even today an individual at will can go to Disney World; can visit some of the finest museums of the world; or go to various tourist destinations without moving out of the VR room. Similarly he/she can do window shopping in some of the best shopping malls of the world and in near future may even tryout some of the items displayed. In short a person can fulfill substantial portion of his/her desires through VR at almost zero cost and energy. With desires satiated individuals can hopefully move on to higher things in life. This may help in reduction of greed also.

Besides fulfilling our basic desires VR can aid in gaining spirituality. Thus one can have a spiritual experience of flying to distant galaxies and see their formation, or closer to home of flying over majestic Himalayas or Swiss Alps. Similarly it can aid in yoga by providing powerful sensory experience of seeing, hearing and focusing on images of nature formation from the minutest to the gigantic. This can help in focusing on a single thought for a long time and hence in achieving Sanyam.

Each individual needs to experience the world. That desire is latent in all humans and has to be satiated. No amount of sermonizing can stop the younger generation from trying to experience it. VR allows a least-cost (energy wise) and non-invasive mechanism to achieve this objective. VR sometimes can be even more powerful than the real world since it allows almost anybody to feel and sense the otherwise forbidden world. It is possible that this satiation of desires so easily will result in overindulgence. However as the technologies of VR and experiences of individuals mature they will move on to other higher things.

VR is however not a panacea for the ills of the present day world. It cannot satisfy the real hunger, or cure the diseases, and cannot substitute for real human contact. Nevertheless it may allow vast majority of citizens from the developing world to enjoy the world in an interactive mode and may help them to move on to higher goals. This will help the world to move towards sustainability and eventually to Nirvana.

The power of Durga Saptasati

Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely this is a popular saying which has a strong element of truth in it. In every sphere we come across powerful and corrupt people who, to serve their own interests, stoop to any extent. They could threaten a vulnerable, honest person to implicate him in a case of corruption. Often, even if the actual culprit happens to get caught, the umbrella of power is there to provide protection. Power begets power. As happened in case of Baba Ramdev at Ramlila Ground in Delhi.

The most dangerous are those who are powerful and corrupt as well as intelligent. Intellect is a double-edged sword it can cut either way. It could even justify a wrong-doing. Articulation and skilful presentation could make untruth appear like truth. As in our Indian Government some of the Ministers do that.

Yes, the socially relevant forms of 'power' in humans are characterized by physical prowess and health, knowledge and professional skill, beauty, wealth and property, social status in terms of caste, priestly or princely authority and the status in the governance of the day. The positive march of socio-biological evolution demands a fair use of these powers for the benefit of the self and the society. When an individual starts misusing his/her powers and starts ill-treating the others, the weak, only option left with them is collective power to beat the rogue. SANGHA SHAKTI must be invoked and we are evolutionary empowered to that unified thinking and action. The oppressed people elect a leader and strengthen his/her hands to lead. The gods and God are born!

That is why Ramakrishna did not give much importance to a learned person; he respected realised souls. A pundit might be capable of engaging in any discussion relentlessly. However, from the spiritual point of view, this is of no consequence. A realised soul talks less, but in his deliberation there is strength because it is not based on what he has memorised or the information he has gathered.

Since there will always be powerful and corrupt persons in life, the crucial question is, how should we handle them?

Two paths are before us. One is to unite ourself with others as per the old saying united we stand divided we fall. It will be possible to find like-minded people who have respect for truth and ethical values. It is not as though society is full of corrupt people; they are fewer in number but they seem to dominate because of the strong nexus they have with the powerful. If only the honest ones keep their ego under check and come together to overthrow the corrupt, the problem of corruption can be overcome.

This is the simple and only reality. Let us judge our performance based on how well we listen to our conscience. In the here and in the now.

As far as the India is concerned, what exactly is happening at present. There may be many more but 3 faces are very prominent in this fight against corruption Baba Ramdev, Anna Hazare and Subramanian Swamy (SS). Out of these 3, SS is doing his fight on his own as he knows in and outs having been Cabinet Minister himself. He is carrying on his fight as he does not need crowds; at the same time, his is not a mass movement. Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare have mass movements but these can't be maintained forever. So, best scenario will be for Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare to put their energies behind SS.

Here is an example from the Durga Saptasati. As long as Devtas fought Mahisasura individually, none could defeat him. The moment they came out of their individual ego and decided to act together, the result was tremendous it led to the arising of the eternal Goddess Durga. Each Devta empowered her with the strength that they had individually. That collective force rose up to meet the challenge posed by negativity.

The message is clear: Evil cannot be destroyed completely, but it can be kept under control. It's important not to remain indifferent when faced with corruption but to speak out and do what one can to make a difference.

Several temptations will come your way that could distract you from the task at hand. These offers are likely to be substantial in terms of the material. However, the need is to cultivate equipoise and not surrender to temptation. Not even a few of us might have the resilience and strength of a Gandhi or have the will to follow in the footsteps of a Christ. But one can try, and perhaps make a difference, however small, so that eventually, taken in the collective, there comes a time when the force of honesty and goodness gathers sufficient momentum to root out corruption wherever possible.

Every one of us can contribute a bit of ourselves to strengthen the efforts of the more forthcoming among us and who knows, just as the Devtas put in their mite to raise the eternal Durga, we too could find ourselves raising a strong force that will help cleanse the system.

The fight between the Good and the Evil appears to be an endless one apparently-this is reflected in many of the stories narrated in our Ithihasas (History) and puranas; it is not that God has created Good and the evil for human race alone; Good and evil exist among the Devas- eg., Devas and asuras-How many times Lord Indira had to leave his abode and live in exile in hiding, when chased by the mighty asuras who gained power by performing most difficult tapas and yagnas, ultimately to be helped by the Trinity (Vishnu-Shiva-Brahma) to overcome the asuras and regain his kingdom- therefore our plight against human asuras in our world can very well be gauged! It is impossible to fight out corruption, violence etc., individually and the need of the hour is alignment of like-minded good people to fight it out and this may lead to controlling corruption and similar evils but may not lead to total annihilation of evil! Evil seems to be existing side by side with Good and I wonder why God has created evil at all and He alone can weed it out totally. We sometime shudder to think of corruption in our society in the present world where it becomes often difficult to distinguish between the evil-minded and the Good- as more often we see the Fence devouring the grain it is supposed to protect! (Jab baad hi fasal ko Khane lage to Uski Raksha kaun karega) The law makers are law breakers and therefore whom do we approach to contain this corruption in society. Self -introspection and Realization alone seem to be the answer.

"If only the honest ones keep their ego under check and come together to overthrow the corrupt, the problem of corruption can be overcome".......The past victims of the corrupted evil ones who let fear and emotional threat to come forward are indeed allowing their ego to take over. Inferior ego and superior ego is one of the same. If only they can come forward " TO-GET-HER", the resplendent Divine Mother in all glory will arise as ONE ENERGY to vanquish any evil that befalls her children.

As in case of Mahisasura "The moment they came out of their individual ego and decided to act together, the result was tremendous it led to the arising of the eternal Goddess Durga. Each Devta empowered her with the strength that they had individually. That collective force rose up to meet the challenge posed by negativity."

People today confine to themselves and their family and feel that so long they have escaped from the grip of the evil they should be happy and thank their lucky stars. They say if someone else becomes the next victim, it is their karma. Can you imagine if all Devtas have thought the same in the past, today we will be in absolute rule Mahisasuran. The victims of the past no matter where they should give support to those who lead the fight so that the next victim is spared from the touch of the known evil.

Even media is also blamed for this. For media, dog bites man is no news; they want sensational man bites dog news. Even when little facts gathered and sent to them, they still do not take action or work hand in hand with the evil force to strengthen the evil even further. They someone to go down in a big way and then they can go with the camera and sensational the news. What is the point, if investigation is really made to smoke out the truth, some lives could have been spared from better damage.

Yes, we the society have to come hand in hand “TO-GET-HER" divine energy to vanquish the evil in whatever forms that engulfs the light of the hearts.

As we are well aware our scriptures use symbolism very well to convey a message. The crucial bit is the 'means' not the 'end'. The crucial bit is how I responded to a situation not whether I got rid of corruption or any other vice. It is the worry about 'securing the right end' or 'winning' or 'overthrowing' the corrupt one that actually weakens us. Our job should be to follow our conscience, nothing less nothing more. Let us not worry about the end result because that is not in our gift. If each one of us does our bit, the end will sort itself out.
