Physical Fitness for Happy and Joyful Life

‘Physical fitness’ is of utmost importance as it is the starting point for wellness of the mind and spirit. Take care of yourself as no one else can do it for you. Sushruta Samhita, the ancient Indian work by the physician Sushruta, describes perfect health as a state where all body parts function.

At their optimal level and wherein the body, mind and spirit are in perfect balance and in a state of bliss. Health is not a state but a continuous adjustment to the changing demands of life and the environment. Positive health implies perfect functioning of body and mind in a given society. All the ancients believed that no attempt should be made to cure the body without treating the soul. The concept of optimum health has been termed ‘wellness’. It is a sense of all-round wellbeing. In order to treat or prevent disease, it is essential to look into our emotional, mental and psychological environment, as our thoughts and emotions directly contribute to our wellbeing or otherwise. Meditation can contribute enormously to an individual’s psychological and physiological wellbeing.

Makara Sankranti (3)

This is not spirituality. What is really meant is to enter one step inward into your life rather than move outwardly, diametrically. It is not a horizontal movement but an inward gesture of the soul towards its own centre. It is difficult to understand what spirituality is, however much you may read philosophy. Spirituality is not one kind of life that you lead. It is the inner meaning of all kinds of life in the world. It is not isolated from other types of life. It is the meaning and significance behind every kind of life whatever be your profession or the duties you perform in the world. There are people who imagine that spirituality is for the later period of one's life. It has nothing to do with doing. As I mentioned to you, it is the significance behind what you are and what you do.

So you cannot fix it for a period of time, tomorrow or the day after, no such thing is possible in spirituality. Because the spiritual is the meaning behind things. How can you fix the meaning to a distant future, as if you do not want to live today. The meaning behind existence and activity is what you mean by the spiritual. If there is any worth in what you are and what you do, that is spirituality. So this is what the Upanishads and other scriptures like the Bhagavadgita speak of. They speak of the interpretation of God in the world such as the Sun whose northern movement commences today, and on account of which you regard this day as auspicious Makara Sankranti.

So, you should take this all seriously to your heart on this auspicious day and contemplate for a moment the deeper truths of our own personal lives, the deeper truths of nature outside and the deeper truths implied in the relationship between ourselves and also the nature outside. There are three implications, three meanings, three significances or three hidden realities-the one, within ourselves; another, in nature outside; the third, that which is implied in the relation between ourselves and the nature outside, which is called God, invisible to our physical perception.

Those who are Brahmacharis may do more of Gayatri Mantra Japa, which is presided over by the Sun, from today onwards. Those who have other Mantras as their Ishta-Mantra may do more Japa of that Mantra from today onwards. Those who are advanced enough to take to pure contemplation and meditation will do well to bring the true God into their lives, not the visible God or the imagined God, but the real God into their own lives, in the sense of what spirituality is, as the meaning and the significance behind what anything is and anything can be in this world.

The spiritual reality, finally, is the significance behind what anything is and anything does, whatever we are and whatever we do, which means to say there is no life without spirituality. Because life without spirituality is a misnomer, it is meaningless, it is absurd.

This is the kind of life that every individual being has to endeavour to live and one should utilise this opportunity as another happy occasion to contemplate God in His real nature, thus accelerating the speed of our movement towards Him, approximating ourselves more and more nearer to that Supreme Absolute and making our life blessed by living it practically in our day-to-day existence and thus also to assist the atmosphere around so that we and our brothers in the world may become fit for the supreme union with that ideal Godhead, the Absolute. May, by this influence we exert in the world, loving solidarity and peace prevail everywhere, be our prayer.
Makara Sankranti (2)

You cannot see God in His pristine excellence, but you can see God through the operation of his powers in nature. In the Purusha Sukta, the Sun is again compared to the eyes of the Virat Purusha, the cosmic person. These are only true comparisons and symbols which give us an idea as to the magnitude and the importance of the Sun in the life of ours. People pray for their death during the six months period of the northern movement of the Sun.

In the Mahabharata we are told that Bhishma waited for his departure until the Sun moved to the north. So there is not merely an astronomical or physical significance to our lives in the movement of the Sun towards the north, but there is also a biological, vital and psychological as well as spiritual meaning in this northern sojourn of the Sun. Devotees and seekers of Yoga have, therefore, to bring to their minds this internal world, and its significance which is beyond and farther than the physical world. The inner world is deeper than the outer.

In some of the scriptures we are told that there are 12 Suns. Where are the twelve Suns? We see only one Sun in the sky. We can regard these twelve Suns as the principle inherent within the physical Sun, one behind the other. Just as we have the vital body behind the physical body, the mental body behind the vital body, the intellectual body behind the mental body and the spiritual principle in us behind the intellectual body, so also, there are energies behind energies, powers within powers, and one transcending the other, until the twelfth Sun is reached.

It is identified with Maha-Vishnu or the supreme benefactor of creation, the Ruler of the Cosmos. The twelfth Sun is Vishnu Himself. He cannot be seen with the physical eyes because these esoteric Suns are internal to the physical Sun. You cannot see the vital body or the mental body, intellectual body or the spiritual principle in you. You cannot see anything inside the body. In as much as we live in the physical body and see a physical world, we see also a physical Sun.

When we enter the vital body, we will enter the vital world and see a vital Sun, so on and so forth, and when we reach the ultimate principle within us by the practice of Yoga, we will see the hidden essence behind the world. It is not a country, it is not a realm, a village or a city, or any locality populated by people. A marvelous ocean of light and energy will be presided over by the twelfth Sun, says the Scripture. So there is much behind these great observances such as the Makara Sankranti and many others of a similar nature, in the spiritual destiny of man. We live a material life, not knowing what we really are, what the world is.

We seem to be so ignorant of the values that are inherent and within us that we are dashed hither and thither by the winds of fate, controlling the physical world and the physical body of people. The more you move inward into yourself, the more also you will see the inner mystery of the world. When you go to the vital body within you, you can see the vital body of other people seated here. Because you are now in the physical body, you see the physical body of others. When you enter your mental body, you can see the minds of other people, and when you enter your intellectual body you can see the intellects of other people seated here. And when you enter your spiritual principle within, you can see the spirituality in the world and the spiritual principle in the whole cosmos.

So the twelve Suns described in the Srimad Bhagavata and other scriptures are not twelve physical Suns hanging in the sky, but twelve layers of principle one behind the other, culminating in the spiritual Reality as the Sun, wherein the individual, the world and God become one. In the physical realm you are different, the world is different and God is different. There is no connection apparently between one another. When you go deeper, the three principles come nearer and nearer to one another. The world is absolutely isolated now; you have no control over it, it threatens you every moment; you are afraid of the world. Why?

Because it is physically isolated from your physical body. And so also is God, a transcendent something of which you have no concept today. But when you go inwardly by a power of concentration and meditation, you also simultaneously, as a parallel movement, enter into the subtler realms of the world outside, so much so the outsideness of the world becomes less in proportion to the internal experience that you have in your own self. The more you are physically conscious, the more also is the world external to you.

The more you are inwardly conscious, the nearer is the world to you. The inimical world, the so-called unfriendly world, becomes a friendly one when you enter into the subtler and subtler realms of your own being. And when you reach the divine principle within you, the world does not merely remain as a friend but becomes an inseparable experience of your own. The world ceases to be an outer phenomenon.

There will be no world as such. The thing called the world ceases to be the moment you enter into the spiritual principle within you which is the same as the spiritual principle within the world, which is also the same as the spiritual principle of the universe. It is only here that God, world and the soul become united. This is the liberation that we are ultimately seeking.

So there is much of a message in this religious observance of Makara Sankranti and we shall all, as humble seekers of Truth, do well to contemplate this inner divinity presiding over the solar symbol in our creation and endeavour to be more and more spiritual in our life, which is not to change to a different order or kind of life from the one in which we are, but to enter into a new meaning of life in this very life. To be spiritual, to enter the realm spiritual, is not to enter into an order of life as people mistakenly imagine. It is not shifting from place to place, moving from one corner of the earth to another corner of the earth, or changing the mode of living in this world.

Makara Sankranti (1)

In Sanskrit, Makara Sankranti means the time when the sun crosses the tropic of Capricorn. The day is of special significance to all those leading the spiritual life and mention has been made of this commencement of this new period in such scriptures as the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. The sun comes to the North, energising and invigorating all life wherever it is, and on whatever he sheds his light. In esoteric parlance, in mystic terminology, the sun is regarded as the presiding deity over the self of man, while the moon is the presiding deity over the mind of man. The self or the soul is different from the mind; the Atman and the Manas are differentiated by their metaphysical and psychological characteristics, respectively.

The self of man is presided over by the Sun or Surya. The Sun is designated as Atma-Karaka. "Surya Atma Jagatas Tasthushascha" says the Veda. The Rig-Veda proclaims the spiritual presiding principle in the Sun as the invigorator, energiser of the selves of all created beings. That is the meaning of the Vedic prayer mentioned above. Of all the things that move and do not move, of all that is organic or inorganic, of everything in creation, the solar principle is the self, as it were, the pivot round which all individual energies revolve. We live by the Sun and die if the Sun is not to be. Spiritually envisaged, esoterically conceived, the Sun is not merely a huge orb of atomic energy as the physicists would tell us, but a radiant mass of life-giving vitality to everyone. The sun is not merely a heating principle, like an electric heater or a fire-like burning mass, or a huge conflagration of fire, because these cannot give you that energy which the Sun supplies to you. I shall give you a small analogy to give you an idea as to what the Sun can contain and does contain.

Do you know what the earth contains? Can you imagine what energy, what vitality, what abundance, what resources are contained in the earth! You have got gold, you have got diamonds, you have got mineral resources under different parts and bowels of the earth, you have got gas and petrol and what not; and where do you get this energy from, for the sake of the living beings on earth? The trees vigorously rise from the earth, sucking energy from the bottom of the earth, and they seek energy from above from the rays of the Sun. When we geologically and physically look into the structure of this earth, and chemically examine its contents, biologically investigate into its resources, as a pure scientific mind, we will realise that the earth is not a dead matter. It is energy-embodiment, on whose bounties we are alive here. The food that we eat is not a dead stuff, otherwise it cannot give us energy.

From where do we get energy? From the food that we eat. From where do we get the food? From the earth. If energy is to come from food, naturally the source of it must be full of energy. The earth cannot be inanimate, as we generally dub it to be. It is not inorganic; there is something organic and living, meaningful and significant in it and the earth has been declared to be a part of the solar constitution, even many millions of years ago. As our wise men tell us, once upon a time a mighty gigantic star happened to rush by the side of the electro-magnetic field of the Sun, some light years away from the Sun, of course, not merely a few miles. The impact of this upon the orb of the Sun was such that it broke off a little piece of it.

That little piece, being a flaming, diverging, powerful energy-block, rushing from the Sun boiling with the flame of what the Sun is, is supposed to have come down after thousands of years, cooling down gradually from the flaming condition in which it was to a cooler condition and from the cooler condition to a still cooler condition, from that condition into the gaseous condition, from the gaseous to the liquid condition and from the liquid condition to the solid condition that we see today. So, all this wonderful earth is nothing but a part of the Sun and our greatness can be traced back to the greatness of the Sun which cannot be, by a logical deduction, a mere physical or inorganic form as uninformed science may tell us.

Something wonderful and mysterious is there in the Sun and there is some great significance in connecting the principle of the Sun with the self of man, as there is also equal significance in the connection of the moon with the mind of man. You know, during, the full-moon and the new-moon days the mind gets affected. Those who are weaklings and who are not mentally strong will feel this impact more than normal persons. Normal persons do not feel it, but those who are not normal in their minds will feel much.

The moon, the stars, the sun and all the stellar system exert a mutual influence amongst themselves. You know during the full-moon the ocean rises up, wells up as if to greet the rising moon and, naturally, the pull must be felt everywhere on earth, but you cannot see it. Such is the invisible impact of the higher forces of nature, whose father is the Sun, and when its influence is felt more and more, the self is supposed to also exert influence in its activity, operation. So, this particular day, we call Makara Sankranti, is holy.

The Upanishads and the Bhagavadgita tell us that those who die during these six months of the northern course of the Sun, rise from the earthly entanglements to the higher regions presided over by noble deities, finally piercing through the orb of the Sun, attain Salvation. Crossing the barrier of the Sun does the soul cross the still higher regions of resplendence and spiritual magnificence. The Upanishads and such scriptures describe that while the passage of the moon is the passage of return to the earth, the passage through the Sun is the passage to salvation, liberation of the spirit.

Those who cross the barrier of the Sun come not to this mortal world again. They go to higher regions until the soul reaches universal salvation, until the soul becomes everything, enters into everything everywhere, as the Mundaka Upanishad tells us. Seekers of Truth, aspirants on the path of Yoga, devotees of God, lovers of mankind, all these have to pay tribute to the supreme father of energy, vital, not dead, which is Surya. "Suryah pratyaksha devata" (The Sun is the visible God). If you have any visible God, it is the Sun before you.
Knowledge and understanding of Maya

The great cosmic Saw Maya when creates its most vehement effect on human senses, mind and gunas, it is not possible to know completely about God, soul, spirit and all other divine and spiritual truths and concepts like Vedic moksha. Without its knowledge no one can understand that we are all spiritual brothers and sisters. This noble concept in Vedas is described as viswa bandhutva (universal brother hood) and viswa kutumbkam (global family) and the presence of His spirit in all animate and inanimate life/things. Without the proper knowledge and understanding of Maya, people grieve that others do not recognise their merits and when you understand this phantasmagoria of cosmic illusion, you grieve at your own incapacity. Also one should know that man is like a breath and his days are like passing shadow. Even if a person does not know this Vedic doctrine of cosmic Saw with its sharp teeth, with sattavic gunas predominance of transparency, purity and truthfulness, its effect starts becoming less and less.

These persons with predominance of Sattavic gunas know that human body is impure, bad smelling and replete with various types of stench which trickle here and there. The same feeling is not there with persons having predominance of tamasic gunas. One possessed of such a gross body thinks highly of him and even despises others. It is all due to lack of one’s lack of knowledge of insight and divinity of the inner world. It is the absence of knowledge of Maya and with tamasic gunas, the danger of phantasmagoria is the maximum and fallacies like myths start emerging and even become more real than the reality itself. The deep rooted human needs of many people are satisfied through these myths, just like small children who feel more satisfied with fairy tales than the stories based on hard facts of life including factual historical events explained through small stories. People even worship these mythological gods and goddesses as major or minor deities and perform Pooja - auspicious prayer with rituals, before their idols, statues, icons and sometimes just ordinary stones, pebbles and even trees, animals’ etc.

For individuals with predominance of tamasic and rajasic gunas, these myths, rituals, ceremonies are beyond practical and scientific reasoning. For others with sattavic gunas and firm belief in immanent and inherent principles or what Immanuel Kant describes as a-priori principles, they avoid material and intellectual arguments and reasoning about myths and they normally have complete faith and love for One God. Because of wide spread material and intellectual knowledge amongst Hindus, the majority of them have virtually no idea of Vedic Maya and some of them who have heard this word Maya distorted it as "Chhal, Kapat" (deception, cheating) and many others describe it as money, wealth, magic, trick etc. Tricksters and magicians are some time referred as Mayavi persons, wealthy lady is Maya Devi and wealthy person who worship all deities as Mammon or Kuber is Maya Das (servant of Maya i.e. money). Those who understand this concept of Maya in all its divine and spiritual aspects describe Maya Das as the servant of Mayin - the great illusion maker who is formless and ineffable One God. Thus the description and understanding change with and without the knowledge of Vedic phantasmagoria. Lack of its knowledge has now become a subject of great distortion amongst many Hindus and is highly misused by fake sadhus, sanyasis, saints and gurus.

The Law of Karma

It always follows you. You can hide from anyone, but you cannot hide from your Karma.

The only option man have is to improve it

The Karma philosophy has baffled people for centuries. The complexities of these phenomena have never been fully understood by many ancient civilisations nor will it ever be by the present.

The Law of Karma centers understood on the philosophy that as a man sow, so shall he reap. It is one of the major tenets of Hinduism and is an important part of the daily lives of Hindus. Karma is born from desires and we are born from Karma. Much effort is placed in obtaining objects of desire and the fruits of such desire are produced in the form of pleasure and pain, joy and sorrow.

The fruits of Karma cannot be reaped in one lifetime. One has to go through numerous cycles of births and deaths in order to reap all the fruits of their Karma, be it good or bad. Performance of good actions and noble deeds produces the Karmic fruit of joy, happiness and peace while; the performing of evil and bad deeds produces the fruit of sorrow, unhappiness and pain. The fruits of Karma not experienced in this lifetime are carried on to the next life so that the individual can get his full dues, whatever that may be. The deeds performed are what determine the character of the next existence.

Clearly it can be seen that the precepts of Karma is embedded in the science of reincarnation. One does not stop existing after death. The death process causes the soul to depart from one body into another and the benefits of one's past Karma continues until that soul achieves the supreme state of consciousness.

Whenever there is a cause an effect must be produced. In other words, karma means not only action but also result of an action. The consequences of action are not a separate thing. The causer of the action cannot be separated from the action. Behind a action , there are desires and thoughts , desires of object arises in the mind then one thinks of how the desire can be fulfilled, then exerts to posses the desire to be fulfilled. Desire and the action always go together. Thought of desire, how to fulfill the desire and the action to achieve the desire, these are the three threads that are the causes of the karma.

The law of karma is one of the fundamental doctoring in Hinduism. As men sows so shell he rips. This is the law of karma. If you do an evil action you will suffer from it. On the other hand, if you do a good action you will benefit form it. There is no power on the earth which can stop the result of karma from yielding its fruits. Every thought, every word every deed is as if were weighted on the scale of eternal justice. Hindu believes things on this universe do not happen accidentally of haphazardly. There is a certain definite connection between what is happening now, and the law of karma.

Every action produces 3 fold effects. It will give you an appropriate reward; will affect your character, leaves behind an impression in your mind. Just as a mango seed produces a mango tree and rice planted in the field produces a rice plant, wheat plane will result in wheat harvest, the karma produces an equivalent result good or bad according to your deed. If you do evil actions you will rip pain and suffering as your benefit. If you do good things you will rip pleasure and happiness. This is the basic law of karma.

There are three kinds of karma, Sanchita (accumulated works), Prarabdha (fructifying works) and Kriyamana (current works). Sanchita is all the accumulated karma of the past, part of it’s seen in the character in the men in his tendencies and aptitude, capacities inclinations and desires etc. all tendencies comes form this. The present body is the result of all the past Prarabdha karma.

Sanchit karma, which influences the present life is called Prarabdha, it can't be avoided or change. It can be only cleared up by being experienced. As if you are paying your past debts. Prarabdha karma is one that has begun and bearing fruits. It is selected out of the mass of the Sanchita karma. Kriyamana karma, which is now being made for the future, It’s also called Agami or Vartamana.

The above can be best explained by a beautiful analogy for the Vedantic example of a bowman. That is, imagine a bowman has shot an arrow, and the arrow has left his hands (this would represent the Prarabdha karma). He has no control over that arrow. He is about to shoot another arrow (which represents Kriyaman karma), and has a bundle of arrow in his quiver on his back (which represents the Sanchita karma) on which he has full control.

The past which he just began by firing the first arrow, its results he will have to experience depending weather he fired the arrow for killing somebody or he fired the arrow for a very good cause. Hindus believe a lot of Sanchita karma can be destroyed by worship and attaining knowledge of eternal god. Kriyamana karma can be destroyed by expiatory or Prayashchitta (accepting ones mistakes and apologizing or clearing through the performance through rites.)

Whatever you saw by your action comes back to you. Your actions of the past are responsible for your present condition your present action will shape will shape your future; there is nothing chaotic in this world. You will become good by good actions and bad by bad actions. Understand this law, and live wisely, have noble thoughts that will only bring you happiness.

The Present Moment

I may never see tomorrow; there is no written guarantee and things that happened yesterday belong to history.

I cannot predict the future, I cannot change the past, I have just the present moments, I must treat them as my last.

I must use this moment wisely, for it soon will pass away and be lost for ever as part of yesterday.

I must exercise compassion, help the fallen to their feet. Be a friend unto the friendless. Make an empty life complete.

The unkind things I do today may never be undone and friendships that I fail to win may nevermore be won.

I may not have another chance on bended knee to pray and I thank God with a humble heart for giving me this day.
See God- Where? How? Why?-(4)

The question of God or no God disappears.

My imagination is that, God is the pre-Big-Bang state of the tangible universe; modern scientists named that pre-Big-Bang state as - 'Singularity'. In Singularity Energies-Matters-Space-Time, four constituent ingredients of the physical universe did not exist; only PURE CONSCIOUSNESS existed. Infinite God or PURE CONSCIOUSNESS created this finite physical universe for some stipulated period of time through a process; and modern scientists love to call that process with a nick name - "Big-Bang".

According to Vedanta, creative desire of PURE CONSCIOUSNESS is the cause of creation of the physical universe; and PURE CONSCIOUSNESS is the only entity available in creating Energies-Matters-space-Time necessary to erect the grand stage, perceived by us as PHYSICAL UNIVERSE. Creator and the created are inseparable. Creative urge of PURE CONSCIOUSNESS is 'MAYA'. Infinite God or PURE CONSCIOUSNESS creates the finite physical universe to realize HIS infinitude. Created Physical Universe is the stage on which KRISHNA or PURE CONSCIOUSNESS dances eternally with all animate and inanimate objects of the tangible universe.

So, Consciousness, which is none other than God, is fully blossomed on every moment of now; and it does not require graded evolution over time. What we human beings require is to try to make our mind evolved enough so that, we get conscious awareness about the fact that - 'We all are parts of profound system, called by us as - God'; and like creator God we also have immense creative power and wisdom to solve serious problems faced by the modern man.

If you wish to see the secret treasure well-protected inside the iron-chest of the king, you have to establish close friendship with the king by hook or by crook; he will then gladly show you what you want to see. Likewise, to get the answers of the perennial questions of human mind - 'Who am I', 'What is the true nature of the physical universe around me', 'What is my relationship with the tangible universe, about which I know through my sense organs', I have to come in contact with the Creator of the universe through my intuitive eyes or divine eyes; and this intuitive eyes open only through extensive spiritual practices under a true Guru.

The concept of 'Monism' of Advaita Vedanta, that teaches us that, the tangible universe is created out of the Creator, as because the Creator and only the Creator has real existence; and created physical universe has no real existence, because created universe with all inanimate and animate objects is mere a dream of the Creator. According to Vedanta Creator and the Created universe comprising Matters-Energies-Space-Time are inseparable - like the spider and its created cobweb. So, you and I are parts of a vast system, known to us as Creator God. So, we should love ourselves, we should love all inanimate and animate objects of the tangible universe, about which we know through our sense organs. In the ocean of ancient Indian spiritual science there is another profound idea - concept of 'Dualism', that teaches us that the Creator of the physical universe with all inanimate and animate objects, and the Creation itself are two completely different entities - like the potter and his created objects. Both these well known concepts have many followers with unfathomable wisdom. Both these concepts are described lucidly by Sri Krishna in the

God is a concept, an ideal state for our behavior and action and reactions. Ascribing name and worshiping Him is only to follow the rules set by various societies, for managing normal behaviors. Element of fear in doing wrong to others is just the effect of 'to every action there is equal and opposite reaction', which is strengthened by the concept, that someone superior to all is seeing us. ----

GOD is one of the finest creations of mankind.

God is like a scapegoat...anything man is unable to explain or is scared about....that’s GOD.

When man was scared of thunder and lightning...he attributed to God, the Sun, the Moon were all gods...Romans/Greeks and also in the 'present' concept of our Hindusim. The moment science comes with a logical explanation....the concept changes. Now that man has probably defecated on the Moon.....the concept is Energy...Light. Wait till photons and Bosons become common lingo!

Is God all powerful.....no ...that’s what mankind wanted God to be....but God just isn’t capable of proving his gender, leave alone ridding the world (Earth) of suffering. The learned, tell me to accept and pray with humility....if God knows what I want. Why do I need to pray to him. (Forgive me for attributing a gender)...he can give it to me. One famous guru (he has a very large following on the Tree)....said on TV to a question.."Guruji are you God ?' His answer was "Yes. Do you have any doubt....there is as much of God in me as in you.” Sounded sensible to me 8 yrs back...

God isn’t supposed to take bribes (sweets and flowers and clothes and gold...)...for getting me that contract or getting my child into an English speaking public school (that will give me more status than it will give my child some English speaking skills).

Is God supposed to live in temples and mosques or Gurudwaras...that have mushroomed on illegally acquired or forcibly occupied land? How many religious institutions that any of my readers have visited are on land that has been bought by the trust/temple/religious board. Queue for some. Special darshans for others.

I think it is wrong to say that those who create problems for others, spread unhappiness all around by their conduct, live in peace but those who are spreading peace and happiness in the lives of others ,are troubled souls and misfortunes only visit them. It is only that the former kind are insensitive people, they are not normal human beings. Hitler was a tortured soul and ultimately committed suicide. The latter kind of people are sensitive people, full of empathy for others, they share others miseries and, therefore appear to be suffering themselves. Look at the aura of peace and self effulgent serenity on the face of Buddha and Mahavir or Jesus Christ.

There is no discrimination between good and bad people in so far as extent of suffering and misfortune is concerned. Hindu concept of Karma explains this. If bad people suffer, they pass on the misery to others but the good people suffer in silence. Suffering is a test of goodness. Some people retain their innate goodness despite misfortunes but those who are good only for effect, change their colours at the first sign of trouble. They blame others and God for their miseries. If they look deeper and introspect, probably they themselves are partly responsible for their suffering.

For your admiration and devotion to the God --- I would like to say ----- as LOVE GOD AND LOVE YOUR SELF.

See God- Where? How? Why?-(3)

EXPLORE GOD BUT HOW –

Religious mythology dictates that - God is

1 Omnipresent --- yet He does not show Himself,
2 He is Omniscient -- yet He does not listen to and respond to one's love- devotion - prayer, worship, meditation,
3 Omnipotent - yet He does not control the frequent mishaps and disasters in the world.

It seems we have created our own imaginary God for satisfying our unanswered curiosities. The sight of God, if gets revealed the God of our imagination will be replaced by truths of what, where, when, why, who and how. Our imaginary God will have divine seat in our heart, it seems till the mystery of origin of life in various forms and their regulation is explored.

Today this exploration work may be conducted by modes and mediums of spirituality, super spirituality, Electronic Transmission Technology, Spirituality and Satelite Electronic Transmission Technology, Intuition - Thoughts and Aura - Electronic connectivity and Transmission Technology, Spirituality- Genetic Engineering Electronic Technology etc.

EXPLORE GOD - The inner eye for noting the observations of the above referred experiments is the team of Religionists + Meditationist + Cell Biologist + Medical Doctor + Electronic Biotechnologist + Electronic Genetic Bioengineer + Mobile Phone and TV - Satellite Technologist. The members of this Team have to be at various junctures simultaneously -- input feeding [stimulus invoking] and Response receiving ends. Stimuli --- God love, devotion, admiration, prayer, worship, physical aura of the saint, meditation, emotional feelings discharged from one end will be channelised for invoking effects at multilevel of the interlinked openly built system of atmosphere, cell, body, brain. etc.

The most important and above all question is , who is that enlightened person , who can enable others to see God in His Divine Light , shinning like a million suns, who can bless us with the Divine Eye with the lamp of Divine Knowledge, in this Kaliyuga.

First search him, bring him on the world stage and let him do the needful and all the questions shall be solved and the search for God shall be over which is least in the Kingdom of God and treat it just as an entry in the Kingdom of God, then we shall retain His power and proceed further to know unknown things and to see unseen things.

There are two types of hearts- the Physical and Spiritual hearts. The physical heart is the one that is located under our chest, beats and circulates blood constantly throughout the body. The spiritual heart is positioned at the center of the forehead, right between the eyebrows. According to authentic scriptures and renowned Masters, God resides in this spiritual heart.

Whosoever has beheld His effulgent face has attained it in the immaculate mirror of this heart alone. However, to accomplish this, another inevitable requisite is- Divine Eye! Only this eye capacitates us to gaze and concentrate on the divine realms of the spiritual heart. The two physical eyes we possess have a range limited only to the material world. To experience and behold the Divine and supra-physical visions within, we certainly need this Divine Eye.

The Divine Eye has been referred to by various synonyms in different holy texts, viz, Shiva's Eye (Shiva netra), Third Eye, Spiritual Door, Single Eye, etc. Although the Divine Eye exists very much with each individual, but it cannot reveal the face of God unless the Perfect Master imparts Divine Knowledge and thereby activates this Eye.

This activation sets in motion the seeker's spiritual journey into the Inner World. All through this, he experiences celestial visions in the form of radiant light or entities and other infinite extraterrestrial sights within his inner consciousness. The same has been advocated by the Bible (Luke 11; 34) - 'When thine eye is single, thy whole body shall be full of light.' Meaning thereby, when your Single Eye becomes active, Divine Light fills up your inner domains.

Another holy text- Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji (page 922) mentions that our bodily eyes are blind in regard to seeing God. God cannot even be glanced at with them. Only when we seek the tutelage of a Perfect Master and when the Divine Eye is activated, we can clearly see His Infinite and indescribable glory- 'Kahe Nanak ih netra andh se, Satguru miliye dib drishti hoye.'

However, some logicians today also reason that the Lord cannot be seen at all. He is not the subject of perception. He can only be felt like air. So, one can merely enjoy His presence. At the most, one can pray and worship to strengthen this consoling and reassuring sensation of Him being around. But, if we contemplate sincerely, we will find that this notion has no valid ground. Only a blind person claims that the sun cannot be seen. For him, its golden rays are nothing but moonshine. He can only feel its warmth. So, he stubbornly sticks to his notion that sun is only to be felt, not seen. However, a person with eyes knows that this assumption is blatantly wrong. It is merely a blasphemy resulting from blindness. Once the blindness is cured, the assumption will itself be proved wrong as the very sun would be seen to shine forth brightly.

Likewise, seers and divine-eyed devotees invoke us to beseech the shelter of a spiritual Master, the God-ordained eye-surgeon, who can bless us with the Divine eye. With this restoration, Divine Light amounting to thousands of suns will irradiate forth, thereby dissolving the disbelief of the spiritually blind.

Another question, often voiced in this regard is- "What is the advantage of seeing God?" The answer is derivative of the aforesaid analogy itself. Remember- a blind person can undoubtedly sustain himself; however, he can never lead a sound life. On a similar note, a spiritually blind man may survive well in the world.

However, being surrounded by the darkness of ignorance, he cannot lead his corporeal life fully, leave aside the spiritual life. He would remain distraught, dependent, stagger, and always sing the tunes of life at a lower note. To amplify these notes and lend the life its due colour and beauty, suspension of the dark period of ignorance is a must. For this to ensue, spiritual knowledge and hence the Divine Eye is more than a must. This Eye sees and foresees discriminately the path of life and the events occurring on it. Contentment, upliftment, and, hence, happiness follow duly. Is it not an advantageous, profitable deal? In fact, it's a priceless one!

The ancient spiritual wisdom in India had identified that there is a consciousness in all human beings that can be realised. Many people like Jesus or Buddha have realized it in them self. When Jesus realized his self, he told “I am the way, the truth and the life.”

It is true of all human beings and anybody can attain it. There is different ways to realize the self. Yoga in India has been developed as a system codex for realizing the human self.

Logically, we could easily understand a spirit in each object in the nature. A tree is not only the leaves and stem. It includes a subjective tree in its seed as well. The seed includes a subjective tree as well. An egg is not only the white and yellow matter. It includes a subjective chick too, with in it. We could identify each object with a subject as spirit inside the object. We could say that god is not objective. God is purely subjective. Then we could identify god also as the spirit in the human person as the being.

As the being, there exists no duality in a human person. The psycho-somatic disintegrates itself. The mind is no more in the person. The centre transcends into the being. The question of God or no God disappears in the being. Such a person has fulfilled the mission of life and joins the superlative, the PARAM or the being. The human becomes pure consciousness in the being. The object transcends into the subject.

See God- Where? How? Why?-(2)

God is indifferent to your like or dislike, love or hate, worship or insult since He is the Creator of the world and since He is merciful on His creatures; He is neither pleased by your acts of devotion nor displeased by your acts of neglect and negation. The god has already gifted life to you; He neither gives you anymore nor takes from you once He has created you. In view of this why to love God? It would be superfluous to pray or worship God as token of your love to Him.

God is omnipresent – present in every iota of the material world and every cell of living beings including the yourself – religious philosophy states. Hence love God. The radiance of omnipresent God inherent in yourself will enlighten you with His Omni science and will empower your mental and physical potentials with His Omni potency. This will facilitate you for living with peace and comfort in synergism with His creations- the God being omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent as per the religious philosophy; all virtues of the God are not for elevation and enchantment of Himself but for his creatures. Thus loving God, by prayer, worship, meditation etc you love yourself, augment your potentials enhancing the contribution towards peace and comfort of yourself and the society.

So love self, think high, act high, live high letting other to follow you. This will bring peace and comfort to yourself and to the society you live in. This is a mode of living as theist if one does not like to be atheist.

"A spiritually blind person may survive well in the world. However, being surrounded by the darkness of ignorance, he cannot lead his corporeal life fully, leave aside the spiritual life. He would remain distraught, dependent, stagger and always sing the tunes of life at a lower note..."

We have three dimensions to our being-physical, mental and spiritual. We mostly live within the first two dimensions, which mean that we are not living fully to the extent of our potential. This gives us a feeling of certain want or void and no amount of sensuous and worldly pleasures can fill this void. “The Lord is my shepherd and I shall not want "-says the Bible.

If god is hidden in everybody what actually is his/her/? Residence? Why he/she/? Has to stay hidden in everybody and not visible? Is our life like joystick games a mission to unearth hidden god? If anyone who has found and seen god hidden within self share the view with others? Or can they simultaneously see god hidden in everybody else, because if so they must worship every living creature as they can see god in all they must respect and worship every living temples isn't it true. Have you ever any claimant who had seen god doing this to everybody? Giving same respect as temple or church or Gurudwara or mosque to any individual? Think anybody who claims has seen god, are trying to supersize themselves among others.

Have a question..why is that people who disturb others peace, create chaos, violence, hatred tend to be living more freely but people who tend to be spreading love, peace, and happiness have always one or the other unhappiness in their personal life, family life bothering them, bringing them down. Making them feel love. y most of our prayers remain unanswered even after putting in everything we could. Why do the rich remain rich? Both in terms of money and happiness and the poor always poor??

We, human beings like to take in negativity of all kinds. Newspapers, news channel sells like hot cakes when CHAOS, VIOLENCE, HATRED, RAPE ETC are publicised. Nobody will watch TV or read newspapers if a reporter writes a good thing done by an human being. So if you look around you, you can see many beautiful things which have gone unnoticed till now. If you get disturbed by reading or listening to such stuffs, why do you read or listen to it?

See God- Where? How? Why?-(1)

Most of us know it too well that abiding peace lies in the lotus feet of the Almighty; even then we are disturbed! Why? Very often, we beseech Him and somewhere deep within we have a constant quest to know Him. But even then we don't find Him and consequently true happiness and peace! Why? Simply because we do not search for God where He actually dwells.

There is nice story narrated, to elucidate the same concept, Saint Rabiya once did a divine sport. She started searching for something outside her cottage. In the meantime, two people walked past her cottage and seeing Rabiya tensed, asked her for the reason. Rabiya promptly answered, 'Oh Sons, my needle is lost. Will you help me in finding that?' Out of respect for her elderly age, these two men also started helping Rabiya in her search. Within no time, dozens of other villagers also gathered to aid her in her mission to search the needle.

However, the desired result was not forthcoming. Efforts proved futile. Finally, an irritated villager inquired from Rabiya- 'Mother, just try to recall the spot your needle exactly fell?' Rabiya answered that the needle fell inside her cottage. The villagers were shocked! As if knocked down with a feather! They revolted and questioned why then she was making them look for the needle outside?

Rabiya innocently reasoned that it was dark inside. To this, the villagers laughed and explained that if it is dark, then why not light up a candle or a lamp? 'But O old Mother! The needle can be found only at that spot where it actually got lost.' Grabbing the right opportunity, Rabiya remarked that this was the fact she wanted everyone to understand regarding God too. She reasoned –

'You all are searching for God outside, in various temples, pilgrimages, or religious sites; whereas He, verily, dwells within the innermost chamber of your being. And, if it is dark there, then enlighten it with the lamp of divine knowledge. But you can find His glorious presence only where it actually is, i.e., in your own Heart or Self.'

However, in this context, theists or believers often reason that God is omnipresent. He does not only reside within but everywhere, in each and every atom of the Universe. Then, why could He be attained only from within? This logic really sounds reasonable.

However, let's try to recognise the other side of this as well through an example. We know that water is everywhere- below the ground where we might be sitting or in the air we are breathing in (in vaporised form). However, when we feel thirsty, can we drink water just by waving our hands in air? No! One can only drink water from its known visible source like the tap, well, river, etc. Likewise, God, undoubtedly, is present everywhere, but His perception and realization becomes a viable proposition only by entering the beatific portal of our inner consciousness, its specific source, and, for sure, by no other outer means.

God is what people, scientists and religions are searching for and never finding.

God or no god is only a human question. Human mind is confused and frightened till it finds an answer to this question. Therefore, the gods, we know are only concepts originated out of human imagination.

But the existence of different gods and the holding religions make the human minds restless and tensed. Religions have brought only wars and never peace. It is impossible to find a world peace till these faiths disappear.

All religions seek peace and freedom. The search goes in vain for ever, till people turns to themselves where the peace and happiness exists. What people search outside them, is embedded in them, but their mental confusion and fear prevents them from realising the peace and happiness.

Any creator should exist naturally above that which is created. If a God created the universe, then who created God?

Religions all over the world are promoting many concepts on god. Science is delivering theories one after the other. The confused human mind goes on with the question for ever.

A truth that could be realized by any human being is the consciousness filled in the being as real and ultimate source.

The human beings are creative in many ways to satisfy their needs and greed’s. Only the human beings have the capacity to know the self and control the rest. The human mind is so imaginative and visionary that it could draft and create anything they need, from their knowledge and imagination.

There was a basic human need to get out of the ever persisting fear in people. They needed a hold to withstand adversities. The history of gods began here. Before scientific thinking took roots on earth, the religious thinking took the control of human minds simply out of fear.

Faith became the best traded drug and religions became multinational, corporations marketing the faith drug.

The truth exists beyond human perception and logic. The whole universe and the life could be a simple expression of the being .The human being is the only entity (which is still known) that has the capacity to experience consciousness to enter the being.

"Everyone is having a treasure of Gold in their heart. Only, that is hidden under a few basket-full of dirt! Remove that, you will find Gold within you."
DON’T LOVE GOD - LOVE YOUR SELF.

Infuse joy into this world

When there is negative energy in the atmosphere, it manifests as hurt and other such events of turmoil. While growth is essential, yet there is no reason to keep generating more negativity, and living in it. After all when there are attacks on society, nobody likes it.

Consciousness manifests as events, and when there is grief and fear in the air, it manifests as negative events. How can one change this? Change lies in everyone's hands, and not just the hands of a few. Each person needs to take responsibility for his/her happiness, and also undertake to become an instrument of joy in this world.

To do this, observe your mind. What drama is playing out there? Do you like bad dramas? Do you like tragic movies and sad songs? What are your preferences? Do you like spreading negative information? Does your mind like complaining just for the sake of complaining? Do you live between one emotional event to another?

Do you believe that happiness is just for the chosen few, and that happy people are not being practical? Do you believe that life is what it is, and change is not possible? On the other hand, do you meditate, and listen to good music?

Do you like thinking of ways to improve this world and make it a better place? Do you prefer to spend time having pleasant thoughts? Do you feel that life is worth celebrating? All of your personal choices and actions matter on the individual level, and also on the large scale.

Your energy will help shift this world's energy, because you matter!

Your light when it gets brighter, brightens up the whole world, and changes the balance of positive and negative in the air. So let's start from today and decide to make some changes in our thoughts, beliefs and attitudes. Tell the mind to let go of its sad stories, and instead focus on happiness.

Let's undertake to bring joy into this world so that mass consciousness is JOYFUL and manifests into joyful events.

Become an instrument of joy now! This world's happiness rests on you. It is like spreading the fragrance into the atmosphere so that foul smell wanes away. Great thoughts coming out of an enlightened soul. The world will then turn into a place of great joy. However the Maya changes the complexion of the world. Whenever there increases the amount of positively a balancing action comes into play and perhaps vice versa. The mechanism how the proportion of positive to negative energy changes in the time continuum still eludes us no matter the sum remains unchanged following the universal law of conservation. Till then it is to the credit of Maya.

The beauty of negativity

Everyone says ‘think positive,’ because they feel it is the easiest way to push out negativity out of the mind.

They also attempt to achieve this by various techniques of meditation suggested by different religious paths. True spirituality advises to let thoughts surface irrespective of being negative or positive. One should just witness them. The awareness of the truth of their existence assists in letting them go, or pass on. They should just be felt and experienced and even if they surface frequently, one should not get perturbed or affected. Let them play, because the moment we shun them forcibly or pass on without registering the experience they form a part of the subconscious, to surface during unguarded or weak moments. So beauty lies not in negating the negativity but witnessing it. In such instances one should face the truth that there are still reflections of negativity within, that is why there are negative thoughts.

Work on yourself to be a positive person. Do not invite insomnia and depression by fighting negative thoughts. They surface to get released. Do not push them under the carpet. The process of witnessing negative thoughts surfacing, and simultaneously promising oneself to become more positive is beautiful. So negativity has its own unique value and importance, just like everything else that happens to us.

It is the past Birth (janma) impressions(called vaasanas or vrittis) that lie under the surface of the subconscious mind and they rise to the surface and one has to just be a witness and try to let them pass without allowing ourselves to be traumatised by them. Like when one is cleaning the floor which hasn't been cleaned for years together, the more you scrub, the more dirt rises to the surface-one has to persevere in the cleaning process and not lose hope. Otherwise we continue to feel overwhelmed by these negativities. So pray with all your heart for the Grace of Guru and God.

Knowledge

Most of people believe that knowledge is the powerhouse and they can lead life happily if they accumulate knowledge. They believe that the knowledge that they gain through all the books and scriptures will help them to understand life. But it is not going to happen. Life is larger than ocean and exploring life is beyond what has been mentioned in any books or scriptures. All the learning is done ultimately to realize one day that nothing is going to serve the purpose of Unison.

But what the knowledge gained through the scriptures do to an individual is to make him see everything in this world intellectually. He always tries to find out reasons for everything using his knowledge. He always tries to find a purpose in everything including his birth. If he has any doubt, he goes back to the scriptures to find out if anything related to his doubt is available. He has been conditioned so from every corner of his life. He has always been told that “You should be packed with knowledge, and then only you will be successful”. So right from birth, he has been put in the stream of learning.

Starting from Parents, School, Books, Television….. Everything is feeding him with information. He can be a walking encyclopedia. If you ask a parent, he or she will say that “I want my child to be successful and hence happy throughout his life”. If you ask them back “Were you happy throughout your life?” what will be their honest answer? So, the child is learning to be happy from the people who never known or experienced what real happiness is. Everyone perceives happiness from their own intellectual knowledge and pass on to their younger generations.

As LOVE cannot be measured or experienced by making decisions or determinations, LIFE also cannot be lived happily with decisions and determinations. If one of your intellectual decision made through your knowledge and past experience makes you feel little happy, then there is always going to be another decision of yours going out of your way. And every individual is pretty aware of this and always has this fear beneath every enjoyment.

LIFE is a happening. A God’s blessing. All one need is to make him as empty as possible and wait to receive the blessing. Then once the Unison happens, his entire life is filled with not just happiness, but with BLISS – a state cannot be imagined and defined by any sort of intellectual efforts.

My experience is very simple. I had been reading so much of spiritual books right from my childhood at one point of time I found I have been only reading and paying no attention to implementation of the same in my life. My ego grew and “All I know” attitude became dominant in me. I used to argue with people and lock them in my arguments to show my power of knowledge. But one day I found myself standing on a big pile of garbage.

That day I decided to practice first what I know and always talk from experiences. That was a very tough call for me. I needed to drop everything I knew, everything I possessed mentally, and finally the feeling of “I Exist” it was really pain."

But, now I am feeling great to be without anything, very simple, just admiring everything around…so happy. I have many challenges, but still I am very happy.

Love just happens. In fact all intangibles like love, hate, anger, passion happen but the tangibles like money, fame, position etc have to be earned.

Love, hate, anger, passion are expression of feeling / emotions but the money, fame, position are earned through effort combined with knowledge and intelligence. Thus knowledge and intelligence have their place and importance in mundane affairs. No wonder the modern education lays great stress in acquiring knowledge, as it paves the way for climbing up the ladder of success in a consumerist society.

Information classified is knowledge, knowledge processed and assimilated is intelligence, living life intelligently is wisdom. Most of us get stuck at either knowledge stage or intelligence stage.

A scientific mind, which is a thinking, rational mind, dissects experience. A creative mind like that of an artist, poet, sculptor etc or a spiritual person synthesizes experience. The scientific mind sees things in parts whereas the A creative mind sees them in whole. Awareness is a whole, integrated vision. It is thinking feelingly.

Gathering of knowledge from books, gurus is necessary but one has to move beyond them, to live and see life with an open, uncluttered mind. Knowledge often shackles us, conditions us unless one knows how to unclasp himself from this bondage.

Higher realms of spirituality...as I understand life need to be lived at two levels....what we get from books and modern education system which is leaning more and more that expend more on education to earn more lately. This provide us livelihood of day to day living...and here knowledge of worldly aspects is must...

Now comes the other part for which probably we all are here...and it is self realization...and here ball game is different and what I have described in my blog is must...where bookish knowledge...scriptural knowledge...skills...expertise are but useless things...grow in both...balance...a delicate balance may be the need...

Be here now

Let go of your thoughts about what could be, or should be, or Might have been. Be here now, fully and lovingly.

Give your attention to the miracle of what is. See the great Value and beauty that is right in front of you, here and now.

Let your thoughts arise and then let them go. There's no Need to wander away from the wholeness of this moment.

Don't hurry ahead to whatever is next. Be here now, and give all the power of your awareness to living the wonder and Value of what is.

What you truly desire is not out there somewhere, and is not waiting for someday to appear to you. It is yours to Manifest and enjoy in this moment.

There is great power and ability in your presence. Be here now, and live the treasure hat is already yours in this very moment.

THE LAW OF THE SEED

Take a look at an apple tree. There might be five hundred apples on the Tree, each with ten seeds. That's a lot of seeds! We might ask,

"Why would you need so many seeds to grow just a few more Trees?"

Nature has something to teach us here. It's telling us: "Most seeds never grow. So if you really want to make something happen, you better try More than once."

This might mean:

1. You'll attend twenty interviews to get one job.

2. You'll interview forty people to find one good employee.

3. You'll talk to fifty people to sell one house, car, vacuum Cleaner, insurance
policy, idea...

4. And you might meet a hundred acquaintances to find one special friend.

5. When we understand the "Law of the Seed", we don't get so disappointed.

6. We stop feeling like victims. Laws of nature are not things to take
personally.

7. We just need to understand them - and work with them.
